It is a great pleasure that we invite you to participate in our Swim meet, organized by the Nautical Club of Chania, in the 50m outdoor swimming pool of Chania, Crete.
We would be grateful if you would send your entries and travel details to the Nautical Club of Chania, 30 days prior to your arrival, in order for us to make arrangements.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- The 17th INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING MEETING “VENIZELEIA”, will be held on 14-15April 2018, in the 50m. outdoor swimming pool 8 lanes, located in Chania, Crete.
- The 17th INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING MEETING ‘VENIZELEIA”, is organized by the Nautical Club of Chania.
- The 17th INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING MEET “ VENIZELEIA”, is in the official LEN swim competition Calendar 2018, and the Hellenic Swim Federation Calendar 2018. Therefore all times are officially recognized by the LEN Federation as time limits for European and World Championsips.
- Enclosed you will find the event program and application /registration information regarding the meeting.
ENTRIES
- Each Club or Nation may enter a maximum of five (swimmers per event.
- Each swimmer is entitled to swim in 5 events maximum.
- More swimmers can enter in any event BUT ONLY FIVE of each club or nation can go to the finals.
- The 400 m. Ind. Medley, 800m. and 1500m Freestyle events will be decided directly by the heats as time –finals.
- You are kindly requested to submit your entries by 15th March 2018, on the enclosed entry forms.
- Withdrawals during the competition should be handed to the referee as early as possible.
The above meeting will be organized according to the FINA Rules and the Hellenic Swimming Federation regulations.
AWARDS
- A cup /trophy will be awarded to the Club /Team that has been classified 1st in the Open Category.
- A trophy / cup a medal and a certificate will be awarded to 1st places, medals and certificates will be awarded to 2nd and 3rd places.
Financial awards will be given as follows :
Best male /female swimmer (FINA POINT SYSTEM)300 Euro each
New European Record 1000 Euro each
New World Record 2000 Euro each
ACCOMMODATION
In the next 20 days you will have all the info of the hotels that the Nautical Club will chose for accommodation, that fulfill a high level of services with team prices.
The Nautical Club of Chania will cover the full board accommodation costs for 5 days, for the following athletes:
1st – 8th place World Champioships Budapest 2017 (men & women)
1st – 3th place European Junior Championships Netanja, Israel
2017(boys aged 17-18, girls aged 15-16).
Technical meeting
The technical meeting will be held in the offices of the Nautical Club of Chania, on Friday 13th April at 19.30. All representatives of all clubs/teams shall be present.
