THE SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

DO YOU LOVE TO SING…DANCE…ACT…CREATE…PLAY AN INSTRUMENT ?

What is SOCSA? The South Orange County School of the Arts (SOCSA) is an audition based arts academy offering comprehensive study in the visual, dance, dramatic, vocal and instrumental musical arts.

How do I apply and audition? Audition dates and requirements vary based upon on your desired academy and discipline. Please see reverse for more details on how to schedule your audition.

PARENTS:

What can I expect when my child enrolls in SOCSA? When your child becomes a member of the SOCSA family they will not only grow as artists but they will find themselves surrounded by a group of teachers, coaches and friends that feel passionately about helping to grow artists and help develop your child’s artistic voice and creative points of view.

What is my SOCSA financial commitment? SOCSA is funded solely by donation. Every student enrolled in the SOCSA academy is asked to make an academy specific enrollment donation of approximately $500.00 per year. This breaks down to about $42.00 per month. For less than the cost of a day at the movies your child will benefit from an enriched arts education! No student is turned away based upon financial contribution however SOCSA counts on enrollment donations to fund every element of the program. Enrollment donations are collected at registration in August. Payment plans are available upon request.

What is my volunteer commitment? Each family is asked to make a commitment to volunteer at a minimum of 2 events during the school year. Volunteering allows parents to have a unique opportunity to see how impactful SOCSA is for every student, connect with parents who share your passion for growing students into artists, and connect with the program in a way that we know will inspire you just as it inspires your child. If you are unable to volunteer we do have an opt-out option which will still offer you the opportunity to support the SOCSA program.

Who are the Friends of SOCSA Booster Club? Friends of SOCSA Booster Club is a non-profit foundation (501c3) serving as the primary fundraising arm for the SOCSA academy. We are a volunteer group of parents and patrons who have a passion for fundraising in support of the South Orange County School of the Arts (SOCSA) academy. Simply put…We will raise funds and trust the dedicated teachers of the SOCSA academy to make the financial decisions that benefit their programs! Upon enrolling your child in SOCSA you are automatically members of the Friends of SOCSA Booster Club. We would like to encourage you to become involved in your child’s activities with your time, talents, and resources. There are always jobs available that need parental assistance and there are volunteer opportunities will fit anyone’s availability.
