Information and Enrollment Agreement

*This completed form should be taken with you to registration.

No student may enroll in an AP course without a completed contract for that course.**

Student Name: ______Current Grade______

As part of our academic program, advanced students have the opportunity to take yearlong AP classes that are equivalent to college level courses. It is a challenging, yet rewarding, experience for those students who are willing to put forth the extra effort. These courses allow students to develop college preparatory skills, and possibly even earn college credit, based on the results of exams offered in the spring. Studies have shown that students who take AP courses have more success in college.

For some AP courses, there will be MANDATORY summer assignments, which will be due without exception the first week of school. Throughout the course, assignments will require extensive time outside of class. When making the decision to select AP courses, students should consider factors such as involvement in extracurricular activities, ability to work independently, and the total number of AP courses they plan to take that year. Both student and parent must be aware that these courses are comparable to rigorous college courses. It is imperative that students and parents understand the commitment before making the obligation because SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AFTER THE SECOND WEEK OF SCHOOL REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCE.
