CALL FOR BIDS
TIMBERLANE STORMWATER LID RETROFIT PROJECT
Sealed Proposals will be received by the undersigned at the City of Covington, 16720 SE 271st Street, Suite 100, Covington, Washington 98042, up to 2:00 p.m.; local time on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, for furnishing the necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, and guarantees thereof to construct the Timberlane-Jenkins Stormwater LID.
This Contract provides for the retrofit of stormwater facilities within the drainage easement areas within Timberlane Estates. The drainage easement in the plat is approximately 3,200feet long and includes both piped and open-channel stormwater conveyance. At Site 1 there will be modifications toimprove efficiency of collecting ground and surface waters in areas adjacent to an existing wet pond near Cedar Valley Elementary School at the intersection of SE 263rdStreet and 193rdPlace SE as shown on the Plans. At Sites 2 and 3, two new bioretention facilities will be constructed located at the intersection of SE 256thStreet and Timberlane Way SE and at the intersection of 188thAvenue SE and SE 268thStreet, as shown on the Plans. At Site 4 an infiltration trench will be installed between 188thAvenue SE and SE 268thStreet, as shown on the Plans.
The Work shall be substantially complete within 50 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. All bidding and construction is to be performed in compliance with the Contract Provisions and Contract Plans for this project and any addenda issued thereto that are on file at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Covington, Washington.
The Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud shortly after the time and date stated above. Proposals are to be submitted only on the form provided with the Contract Provisions. All Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, money order, or bid bond payable to the “City of Covington”and in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid.
Bid Documents may be examined at the office of the City of Covington, or the office of the Project Engineer, Gray & Osborne, Inc. Financing of the Project has been provided by the City of Covington, Washington and the Washington State Department of Ecology. It is anticipated that this project will be funded in part by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Neither the State of Washington nor any of its departments or employees are, or shall be, a party to any contract or any subcontract resulting from this solicitation for bids. The City of Covington expressly reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive minor irregularities or informalities and to Award the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interests of the City.
