2014 CLOSING PROCEDURES
BOOKS
· Collect all books week of June 6 (refer to Library schedule.) Have students erase all marks.
· Students who have lost or damaged books must pay for them. If books are completely unusable, students will pay for the full replacement cost of the book.
Check with Liliana for current Charges
· If teachers have any books in their rooms that are checked out to another teacher, check with Liliana for turn in dates. If there is no name in the book, return it to the library.
GRADES
Teachers should make sure that all academic and citizenship grades have been entered in Aeries Gradebook before going home on Thursday, June 19. Mr. Hernandez will monitor Aeries on Friday, June 20 to be able to have conversations with staff on the duty day for any clarification.
LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL 2014
· Tuesday, June 17 through Thursday, June 19 are modified days. Dismissal is at 1:31 p.m.
· Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks to school starting on Tuesday of this week. Girls will be allowed to bring small purses.
IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES
Thursday, June 12 8th Grade Uniform Recycling Turn In: 8th grade students who have earned a promotion may donate their uniforms to the school ONLY on this day. Students will turn a uniform in to their period 1 teacher along with the permission slip signed by their parents. STUDENTS ARE TO BE IN UNIFORM THIS DAY. These students must carry with them “McFadden Intermediate School 8th Grade Uniform Recycling Program Permission Slip” which has been signed by both their parent and period 1 teacher. 8th graders participating in this program will be allowed to wear jeans starting on Friday June 13 until the end of the school year as long as they follow all other aspects of the dress code.
Friday, June 13 Ice Cream Social: All 8th grade students and teachers will be attending the ice cream social in the Quad at 2:15 pm.
Eighth Grade Event: 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. Only those 8th graders who have this privilege intact will be allowed to attend.

End of Year Ceremony Orientation: All students will attend an orientation during period 3 in the outdoor theatre.
Monday, June 16 Promotion Practice: All 8th graders will participate in the practice during periods 1 and 2. Promotion tickets will be handed out to those who have earned attendance to promotion during period 6.
Tuesday, June 17 Knott’s Berry Farm: All 8th graders will report to their Period 1 classes for roll. Students attending the trip will be dismissed to the front of the school. Those students not attending will report to the Theatron.
Wednesday, June 18 6th/7th Grade Awards Ceremony: This ceremony will be in the Theatron beginning at 1:45 p.m. It is our sincere hope that all staff with 6th and 7th grade students will attend this special event.
Promotion Day! Promotion will take place at Godinez Fundamental High School. Those 8th grade students who do not promote will be expected to attend class. Eighth grade students who are promoting will not be on campus this day. 8th grade students not receiving a promotion will be on campus and will report to the Theatron.
Thursday, June 19 Last day of instruction: 8th grade students will receive their diplomas through their period 6 teachers.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR TEACHERS & STUDENTS
· Report cards will be mailed to student homes by the end of June. No report cards will be available before that time.
· Think Together starts on June 25 at McFadden Intermediate School. Students attending Think Together School will receive an information sheet confirming their enrollment in the program that includes important information regarding school dress, hours of instruction, etc.
· All students should keep their PE lock in a safe place over the summer. This year’s 8th graders will be able to use their lock at all Santa Ana high schools.

In order to prevent incidents and to provide for an orderly exit from school, the following assignments are being made. All teachers will go immediately to their assigned posts at the end of the day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday June 17, 18, and 18 and remain until all is clear. Promptness is important so please do not delay arrival at your post. Lock your own room as you leave.
