The NLTAPA Executive Committee will conduct its annual spring meeting in conjunction with the NACE Annual Meeting and Management and Technical Conference in Portland, OR. Several specific opportunities have been scheduled to allow interaction and feedback between NTLAPA and NACE.

Sunday, April 20, 2008:

NLTAPA EC Welcome and Organizational Breakfast, 8:00 am, Idaho Room, Double Tree Hotel (Continental Breakfast)

  • Review and approval of minutes from TRB and March Conference call
  • Review of Joint NLTAPA and NACE meetings. Revise or confirm.
  • Review and approval of NLTAPA Agenda items and meeting schedule
  • Review of format and objectives for the Joint LTAP/NACE EC meeting at 9:30
  • FHWA update highlights

Joint NACE and NLTAPA EC Meeting, 9:30 am – 10:30 am.

Facilitated discussion of LTAP/NACE relationships and level of service. Discussion questions follow this schedule.

NACE Committee Meeting, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, Idaho Room

NACE Board Meeting, 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm, Marie Walsh, Kevin Burke and Denise Saunders will attend meeting

  • Overview of NLTAPA/NACE relationship – Marie Walsh
  • Introduction of NLTAPA President Elect – Kevin Burke (Kevin will reiterate NLTAPA’s commitment and talk about the IL LTAP’s efforts with the 2009 NACE Conference which is in IL.)
  • Report on NLTAPA needs survey recently completed by NACE Board Members, George Huntington, Ed Stellfox (NACE completed the survey in response to NLTAPA’s request for feedback on the products and materials survey that is being conducted by NLTAPA)

NLTAPA EC Meeting, 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Idaho Room (Donna Shea to facilitate)

The NLTAPA EC will conduct business and begin discussions while Marie and Kevin attend the NACE Board meeting. George and Ed will join the NACE Board for their short presentation on the needs assessment.

  • Partnerships – Jim Grothaus
  • APWA – new APWA liaison; Lisa Harris’ report on the Transportation Committee; final decision on how we go forward with members on the committees.
  • AASHTO – status of NLTAPA liaison position from AASHTO in Washington, status of NLTAPA Liaison (Doyt) subcommittee on safety management; TIG; Kevin’s proposal to have Illinois sponsor the move to create a place for a local roads subcommittee
  • TTAP – Lisa Harris and Bernie Alkire/FHWA
  • Beginning of discussion to more thoroughly understand and incorporate TTAP needs into LTAP and into NLTAPA.
  • What questions should we be asking when Lisa and Bernie attend the Region 2 meeting?
  • How does FHWA view these issues?
  • How is the CH supporting the TTAPs?
  • Can we identify a few key issues or questions that need to be resolved?

  • Products and Services Work Group – what do you need from the EC? Regional meetings?
  • Interview questions for the 25 year article
  • CH update – FHWA and Alison
  • Fall EC Meeting Dates – Kevin Burke, everyone bring your calendar!
  • TRB meeting schedule for 2009 – Saturday again? Morning breakouts or technical sessions, followed by group lunch and then the business meeting? How should we confirm this with the Association?

Nationally, LTAP strives for effective and relevant service to its customers. Describe key elements of good service provided by an LTAP Center, from a county perspective. Provide some examples.
