It’s In Our Nature course content:

I have had many opportunities throughout my 26 years with the Department of Corrections to observe and learn from offenders, along with staff, on what it means when it comes to appropriate behavior and developing professional relationships. I constantly do research in preparation for up-to-date information on training topics such as con-games, cross-gender supervision, and gender responsivity. From this experience, the overwhelming evidence indicates that women have a tendency to build relationships and men have a tendency to have relationships. Now why would I say such a thing like that? It’s In Our Nature to do so. In this presentation we will take a look at the reasons behind why men and women cultivate such confusion when it comes to appropriately setting boundaries, developing professional relationships, and the emotional pull and toll it takes on us.

Native American CulturePresenter: Judy Morrison

Judy Morrison is a Native American Spiritual Consultant for the Department of Corrections. She is Cherokee/Osage. She is the Executive Director of the Seven Feathers Foundation. She will present insight into historical trauma & other issues affecting Native American offenders& their families.
