Since 1975, the Memorial located at the intersection of US Highways 6 & 40 in Golden, CO stands as a lasting tribute to all U.S. Marines living and deceased. The Memorial represents you. It also exists as a subsidiary organization of the Marine Corps League, Department of Colorado, and welcomes the support of its members. Thousands of people daily drive by the site and observe its honorable testimony. Many Marines whose vision, labor and sacrifice for the establishment and upkeep of the Memorial have now passed away.Yet, their commitment to supporting this monument to USMC history remains evident today and always. The financial obligations for the Memorial’s maintenance and improvements will be accomplished with your help. Considerthis opportunity to sustain our landmark. The authority by which a Marine Organization can have a voting member on the Board of Directors comes from the October 25, 2008 approval of amended By-Laws by the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial Directors and the Department of Colorado, Marine Corps League. The By-Law relative to this authority is printed as follows:

A SUBSIDIARY UNIT OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF COLORADO, MARINE CORPS LEAGUE
ARTICLE IV
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
A. the Board of Directors shall consist of the following members:
1. One from each duly chartered Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Colorado.
2. One from the Department of Colorado, Marine Corps League.
3. One from each command of the Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve organization in Colorado.
4. One each from all other Marine Corps affiliated organizations associated with the above mentioned organizations such as Women Marines Assn., Military Order of Devil Dogs, and Marine Corps League Auxiliary, Division Associations etc..
5. Organizational representation is subject to board approval
6. Organizational dues must be current (may be waived for DOD entities).
The above members shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of the commanding officer, officer in charge, or chief civilian executive officer, as the case might be, of the appointing unit or organization.
