£10 per tournament

(plus 50p per entry for the fastest smash competition)

e.g. Enter Ladies Doubles Only = £10, Enter Ladies and Mixed Doubles = £20

Enter 2 Tournaments, 3 attempts at fastest smash and 15 raffle tickets = £36.50 (you get the idea!  )

Fundraising information: We are raising funds this year for the MS Society with all our profits being notated to the MS Society.

Tournament Format:

The American style tournament simply means that you enter as an individual and you will have a different partner for each game. The winner will be decided from the cumulative total of points scored in each game played. The winner is that with the most points.

Rules:

This event is open to Gloucestershire Badminton League players. Subject to numbers it may be opened up to neighbouring counties.

Pairings are all selected at random and will last for one game only. This should result in everyone playing against different pairings and different partners keeping the tournament even and competitive.

We will aim for each player to play a minimum of 7 games per tournament but if we can fit more in we will.

The number of games being played is intended to be equal for everyone but where time restrictions affect this we may take an average to calculate the winner.

Tournament games will be played on 7 courts and the fastest smash competition will be played on 1 court only.

Feather shuttlecocks will be used for the duration of the event. Please only replace when necessary. The less shuttles we use the more money we make for charity. 

All games are to be played first to 21 with no setting.

Number of games to be played is flexible based on entries but the number of entrants has been restricted to ensure a good number of games take place.

All participants enter at their own risk, Pittville Badminton Club are running this charity fundraising event for fun competitive games but we accept no responsibility for any injuries as a result of this event. We recommend that all players concerned should look to source their own protection / insurance, for example, via Badminton England membership.

Refreshments are available from the GL1 Leisure Centre Café.

As such this year we cannot provide cakes to help fund raise more money. Sorry!

Winners and Runners Up will all be awarded a trophy kindly donated by Trophy World with the winners also receiving a hoodie or sports top with many thanks to our event sponsors Oliver Sport UK.

Fastest Smash Rules:

50p per entry with no limit on the number of times you can enter.

Racket to be used is the Oliver RDS racket. This racket is fitted with a small Bluetooth enabled chip and records various measurements including shot speed. We will have a leaders board for you to see the top 10.

5 attempts only per entry

Smash must go over the net and hit within the doubles court boundary to qualify

Mens and Womens competition

Sports t-shirt prize for the winner in each competition.

Winners will be announced at the end of the event before the raffle draw.

All profits will go towards the MS Society

Charity Raffle Rules:

Unlimited number of entries possible per person

£1 per ticket

Raffle will be drawn at the end of the event on Sunday 15th April
