Julie Jenkins “Building a Better Flyball Dog” Seminar

This seminar is open to dogs of all experience levels and covers a wide range of training techniques that are proven successful. For young dogs and puppies, learn how to build a solid foundation of motivation, focus & accuracy. This seminar is also open to fully trained and partially trained dogs who have room for improvement in any aspect of their performance. Dogs will be grouped and worked by experience level throughout the weekend.
Specific topics include:
-Box Turns; how to get them, improve them, and maintain them
-Jumping; increase efficiency and consistency
-Passing; improve dog confidence and focus to run in any position in a line-up,
-Speed & Motivation; using what your dog loves best to motivate him to give all he’s got
-Troubleshooting; solutions for crossing over, ball dropping & passing problems
Participants will get the maximum ‘working time’ possible, so that all attendees can watch the techniques in action for all levels of flyball training.
The training methods presented focus on setting your dog up for success and using play rewards to cement your positive relationship.

Julie (Norman) Jenkinshas been actively involved in flyball since 1992. She is co-captain and head trainer for Fur Fun flyball club, currently one of the fastest on the East Coast. Fur Fun is the only club to win regional championships (regular & multibreed) in three different regions (9, 15 & 13) and was the first regional team to break the 18, and 17 second barriers. The team holds regional records in Region 9 at 16.62 in Regular and 18.15 in Multi-breed. Fur Fun’s dogs are known for their lightning fast box turns and high motivation. Julie has taught flyball in private and group lessons for 7 years. Her students include not only her own team dogs, but dogs from clubs throughout the East Coast. Julie is known for her ability to get the most out of each dog regardless of breed or size with innovative training solutions. She competes with her own dogs in flyball, agility & canine disc.
