Executive Reports

  1. President – Dave Reinheimer
  2. Transition between Dave R. and Dave H. is in process
  3. West Chester Halloween Parade – Wed. Oct. 28th (Rain Date 10/29) – request for coaches to get word out to kids and encourage to walk in the parade
  4. District 28 Banquet on 11/6 – request for league award nominationsforVolunteer, Mother, Umpire, Male/Female of the Year Award)
  5. Open Committee Chair Positions – Player Safety Director, Opening Day Coordinator
  6. Player Agent – John Snyder
  7. VP Challenger – Andy Thompson
  8. Treasurer – Rob Grim
  9. Report sent out to Board by Rob Grim. Budget is on on-track.
  10. Discussion on how to hold sponsors accountable. There are some outstanding payments from Sponsors to West Side – sponsorship committee to investigate

  3. Fall Ball going well; minimal rainouts
  4. Spring 50/70 program may benefit from Exton players migrating to our program
  5. Robin to see if we can use another local field for 50/70 to minimize flipping Waltz Field
  6. Robin and Dave R. going to West Whiteland Township meeting to see if they can fund some improvements to Waltz Field
  7. Winter Ball
  8. Age Groups
  9. Baseball – ages 5-8
  10. Softball – ages 7-12
  11. ASBA Clinic Fee for Winter Ball will be $3500 fee for 6 to 8 week session
  12. Player Registration fee to be set at $100 – registration will open in the next week
  13. Spring Season
  14. Spring Evaluations will be on 2/6 and 2/20 from 6-9 PM
  15. Spring Signup will open in Nov. and close the 2nd week in Jan. to allow sufficient time for draft
  16. Opening Day set for 9AM on Sat. April 9th
  17. VP Softball – Scott Yaw
  18. Fall Ball is going well
  19. Dave Harvey is at District Admin. State Wide meeting in Williamsport – he noted that several grants may be available for softball

  3. Discussed sponsorship process and how to collect past due commitments from Businesses
  4. Committee will look into what the sponsorship package will be and get that out to local business in early November
  5. Committee would like to lockdown new sponsors by end of January
  6. Robin noted we should target business that West Side pays to perform services

  9. Rob to get current list of sponsors to Sponsorship Committee
  10. Approval of sponsorship package will be done by the board via email

New Business

  1. Uniforms
  2. Decision to phase out vests. We have issues getting back the vests,
  3. Board to investigate a tiered approach to upgrading uniforms by division.
  4. Discussion concerning some 11s and 12s playing down with 10s
  5. AL Division is mainly 10s but some 11s and 12s can opt to play down. This is purely based on ability. The league will not permit higher ability 11s and 12s to play down with 10s. Ability level is determined at evaluations and players will be appropriately placed based on ability.
  6. All Stars
  7. Board to investigate possibility of a local tournament to enter a B team at the 10/11 age
