Conducted a presentation titled “Police Pursuit: An Attractive Nuisance”, for the Faculty and Students of NC Wesleyan College.
Justice Studies Conference Room. 2007.
Purchased / donated two large whiteboards, which were placed in the Justice Studies Conference room. This is part of an ongoing effort to provide a quite room that students can use to study, complete assignments or hold meetings. These white boards have also facilitated the room being used for group tutoring sessions by Justice and Political Science Faculty.

This class was developed by as a special topics JUS 495 course, that examined the developments of Edwin Sutherland’s 1939 term White Collar Crime and the various criminal actions that fall within that classification.
ACC 325. 2008.

I submitted a proposal requesting that ACC 325 Fraud Examination be added to the Justice Studies program electives that are listed in the catalog. The pre requisite for this course was already listed as ACC 201 or JUS 205. This course; was approved to be adopted, as a Justice Studies elective.

Recognizing the lack of computer lab space on campus, contact was made with tech support personnel. After discussing this issue with them, a NCWC surplus computer was obtained and placed in the Justice Studies Conference Room. While this computer is not connected to a printer it is connected to the internet / college system and is available for use by students to complete assignments.
Automatic External Defibrillator Grant. 2008.
Noting the issue of campus safety and the discussion that followed during a recent faculty meeting I located a grant for automatic external defibrillators. Upon gaining approval from the Development Office I applied for the grant.
2+ Scholarship Program. 2008.
Justice Studies aided in the development and advertisement of this program; which, allows an in state student who is transferring into NC Wesleyan with a 2 year degree from an accredited college to benefit from a grant package, that places the out of pocket costs lower than a state school.
Basic Law Enforcement Training Programs. 2008.
Justice Studies conducted a review of the credits that were being awarded for Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET). Subsequent to the review, the classes were credit was awarded were updated to better represent the programs offerings.
Adult Degree Program Class Rotation. 2008.
Justice Studies worked with the Adult Degree Program Director on the Main Campus to develop a standardized course rotation. This will aid students in planning their schedules. The course rotation has been posted and will be effective starting Fall ’09.
On 12/8/2008 Justice Studies faculty requested that the Triangle and Goldsboro ADP Campuses submit a standardized class rotation plan, for approval. The rotation plans for the Triangle and Goldsboro Campuses will also be effective Fall ’09.
Justice Studies Pamphlets. 2008.
Justice Studies faculty worked with a professional printer to create pamphlet, to advertise the program. The set up and printing costs of the pamphlet, were paid by Carl Lewis.
Justice Studies Posters. 2008.
Justice Studies faculty worked with a professional printer to create a poster that would advertise the program and transfer credits awarded to anyone with Basic Law Enforcement Training. These posters have been disseminated to police departments / academies across the state.
Justice Studies Special Topics Proposal. 2008.
Justice Studies faculty submitted a proposal to the Curriculum Committee requesting that the requirement for JUS 415 Special Topics classes to be proposed to the Curriculum Committee after they have been offered three times.
Nash Community College Partnership. 2008.
Justice Studies faculty and the Rocky Mount ADP Director met with the administration of Nash Community College for the purposes of expanding the already existing partnerships. As a result of this meeting: two NC Wesleyan Classes will be taught at Nash Community College in the Spring ’09 term. The classes will be taught by adjunct instructors that have been approved by NC Wesleyan.

Photography Photo Website. 2009 – Present.
Created at my expense a password protected website where photos taken at school events can be uploaded. Members of the athletics department, students, staff, and faculty have been furnished with a password, that allows them access and unlimited FREE downloads. Students have also been encouraged to give the password to their families. The popularity of this website is best demonstrated by the number of downloaded photos / photo website hits at greater than one million. As a result of the work with this website, my wife and I were recognized by the Athletics Department at the Awards Banquet and awarded a Wesley.

Emergency Care for Graduation Attendee. 2013.
Just prior to the Spring Graduation, recognized that one of the attendees appeared to be in distress. Upon checking on the individual I made the decision to contact EMS / Paramedics. When they arrived it was determined that the individual was going into heart failure. After a lengthy stay in the hospital he made a recovery.
Campus Security Proposal. 2014.
The criminal justice department conducted an extensive review of the security plan created by the department of Student Life and submitted a report to the administration and Board of Trustees with recommendations. Subsequent to this proposal I attended two meetings (one with the County Manager and representatives from the Sheriffs Department and one with the Asst. City Manager and the Chief of Police) where the proposed concept was discussed.
