The Humane Slaughter Association (HSA) is holding a one-day seminar for the meat and livestock industry entitled “WATOK ONE YEAR ON – Meeting the challenges… Where are we now?”.
The seminar is aimed at all those associated with animal welfare at slaughter, eg. animal welfare officers, veterinary surgeons, meat inspectors, food business operators, slaughtermen, lairage workers, enforcement officers and legislators.
Speakers from the legislature, industry, enforcement, research, certification and training bodies will inform the assembly of their experiences in meeting the requirements of EC Regulation 1099/2009 in each of their working environments. The presentations will be followed by a chaired discussion at which delegates will be encouraged to share their experiences in dealing with the legislative changes in addition to questioning the speakers.
The seminar will feature the following speakers and organizations:

The HSA Seminar will be held on Wednesday 12thOctober 2016in the Donington Suite, at the Jurys Inn, East Midlands Airport, Castle Donnington DE74 2SH. The day will start at 09.30 for registration and refreshments and will end at 16.30. There will be a break for lunch between 12.30 and 13.30. The venue has good disabled and wheelchair access.
