Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

New Site Supervisor Training Documentation

The individual(s) listed below received one-on-one individual in-service. The topics covered are as followed:

1.  PROGRAM

2.  SITE OPERATIONS

  1. Meal regulations, production and counts
  2. Meal delivery schedule
  3. Recognizing and serving a complete meal
  4. Who receives (reimbursable) meals: children 18 years and under; or, people of all ages with physical and mental disabilities who participate in special school programs for the disabled
  5. Policy for documenting and serving leftover meals and second meals
  6. Documentation of leftover and/or excess milk from meals
  7. Inclement weather plan and alternate service areas
  8. Cleanliness and sanitation: local health and sanitation regulations (i.e. hand washing, temperature of hot/cold foods, trash removal and pest control)

3.  RECORD KEEPING

  1. Delivery receipts, Daily Meal Count forms, Weekly meal consolidation forms
  2. Count meals at point of delivery to ensure match with delivery receipt
  3. Count meals during meal service at point of service: when a child receives a meal, the meal is counted and documented

4.  RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervision
  2. Labor Documentation (if applicable)
  3. Reporting to Sponsor

5.  MONITORS

  1. Names and phone number to call Monitor with questions or concerns
  2. Visit and monitoring schedule requirements
  3. OSR Reviewers may come to review site unannounced

6.  CIVIL RIGHTS

  1. Language translations regarding meal service times and locations
  2. Availability of SFSP information in different languages including the availability of meals and nutritional benefits of the program
