Editing Things
You can get to the Sitecore editor by clicking on this icon. It will either be on the desktop or in the Sitecore menu:
The information you will be editing for houses can be found in the content tree at this location:
/Content/Porter Davis/Home/Data Store/Homes
As editors you will need to lock the item you are planning on editing, this prevent others from overwriting your changes. Just click on the ‘Lock and Edit’ text and Sitecore will do this for you.
Once you are done you can check in you changes, this allows others to work on the item once you are done. To do this you can click on ‘Check In’ from the Review menu:
The structure for the house data is as following:
- House Details (generic home data)
- Variation (data specific to the variation)
- Dimensions (represents a dimension (width and depth) of a room in meters)
- Area (represents an area represented in meters^2)
- Design Options (select the lower floor, upper floor, and pdf for the variation)
House details
Meta Data*
Meta Tile – Title that appear in the browser/tab
Meta Description – SEO
*We can put default text in for these fields
Social Meta Data*
Social Title – Title that appears in feeds (Facebook, Pintrest, Twitter)
Social Type – Facebook related (we will default this)
Social Description – Text that appear in the shared item
Social Share Name – Name of the site (we will default this)
Social Share Image – Image that appears in the shared
*We can put default text in for these fields
Base House Details
House Name – The name of the house (eg Cannonvale)
Description – The description that appears on the house details page
Category – The house category (access, lifestyle, prestige ect)
Stories – The number of floors
Hero Image – The wide version of the image to appear on the house details page
Standard Image – The image that will be used throughout the rest of the site
Promotion – Select a promotion attached to this house, appears on the house details, house package pages
Interior Galleries – Select the root folder for the house interior galleries (needs the images uploaded to media gallery)
Facades – Select the root folder for the house facades (needs the images uploaded to media gallery)
Package Only – Select this to make house if it can only be part of a package
New Home – Select this to make new indication appear on listing grids
House Variation
You can override the base house meta data here if you want to have more granular data for your variation.

Price – Runway Import will update this
Discount Price – Runway Import will update this
Actual Size
Variation Name
Bed – Runway Import will update this
Bath – Runway Import will update this

Creating
You can create a new item such as a variation, area, dimension or design option. The easiest way is you can simply clone and existing item and change the name. To duplicate and item simply right click on the item and select ‘Duplicate’:
