Absenteeism

If you are absent, hand in homework with the word absent written on top the day you return. If you are absent the day of a scheduled quiz or test, take it the day you return. If the scheduled quiz/test land on the day you return, you are to still take it. You have one day to make up assignments for each day you are absent.

Check the homework list to get missing assignments. If we are correcting that assignment in class, it is okay for you to write down the answers and any extra explanations. You must still complete the assignment and show all work.

All handed out papers will be in the absent bin. Please look in this bin the day you return.

The Start of Every Class

We will start class every day with the same routine: open book to previous night’s homework, red pen and completed assignment. All other books in your desk. If homework is collected, it must be turned in at that time or it is considered late. Start the do now in your spiral silently in your assigned seats.

Note Taking

Always start a new page for new notes

The back of your spiral will be for notes that will help you with the High School Entrance Exam, State Testing and future Mathematics Classes

Homework

Your child has a black Mathematics Folder and Spiral where all notes and board work are taken. Please advise your child to use their spiral while completing homework, as they will have examples of how to complete the homework problems there. Your child should review their class work for at least ½ hour per day. A calculator is needed for class. TI 30or TI83/84
