Brine Introduces Pride Games To Brine National Lacrosse Classic

Baltimore, MD, May 22, 2013 -- Level 2 Sports and Brine announce the introduction of the inaugural Pride Games, regional high school showcase tournaments,featuring players of advanced skill level to compete against players with similar skill level. Players in the Pride Games compete for spots to represent their hometown, state, region and school at the2013 Brine National Lacrosse Classic, June 30 - July 3 in Germantown, Maryland, where they will play with and against the top players in the nation.

"The Pride Games has been created for the local lacrosse community," said Joel Franklin, executive director of the Pride Games and Brine National Lacrosse Classic. "It enables more players with opportunities to showcase their skills against other players with similar skill level while competing for roster spots to represent their region, hometown, school and state on a national level at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic. 100% of the player registration fees collected remain in the local lacrosse community to help grow the sport of lacrosse. In addition, the Pride Games have charitable beneficiaries that give back to the sport of lacrosse. Players, coaches, parents and local lacrosse enthusiast are proud of their “home grown” lacrosse talent and the Pride Games offer everyone to take pride in their accomplishments."

The five regions will proceed as follows:

  • Florida Region: The Pride of Florida High School Lacrosse Showcase will take place on June 1-2 in Kissimmee, Florida. One hundred of the top high school boys and 50 of the top high school girls have been selected from the Brine regional tryouts. Players will be coached by NCAA lacrosse coaches from University of Tampa, Lynn University and Florida Tech. Bright House Sports Network will broadcast both the boys and girls showcase final games to more than 10 million homes in the Southeast, USA.
  • Maryland: The Pride of Maryland Prep vs. Public Challenge, will take place June 6 at Archbishop Spalding School in Severm, Maryland will showcase the top 25 players that attend private school and top 25 players that attend public schools in Maryland. The tryouts are May 28 and 29 at Archbishop Spalding School in Severn, Maryland. More than 200 players are currently registered to attend the tryouts.
  • Ohio: The Pride of Ohio Buckeye Showcase will be played on June 9 at Coffman-Dublin High School stadium in Columbus, Ohio. More than 90 players have already been selected from the Brine National Lacrosse Classic regional tryouts held in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio. Each team will be coached by a local NCAA college lacrosse coach while a selection committee of Ohio high school lacrosse coaches evaluate and select the final 25 players that will represent Ohio at the Classic.
  • Pennsylvania: The Pride of Pennsylvania High School Lacrosse Showcase will take place on June 9 at the Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. More than 300 players attended tryouts held at The Hill School and Penn Manor High School in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Coaches selected the top 75 players to play in the showcase.
  • New England: The Pride of New England will feature the top high school and middle school players that have been selected from the Brine regional tryouts in Connecticut and New Hampshire. Players will be divided into teams that will represent North New England and South New England. The teams will play a series of games to showcase the players and enable coaches to select the top players to represent the New England region at the 2013 Brine National Lacrosse Classic.
