About the Program:

There is a lot of talk about ISO: ISO certification has become a big selling point for many companies and is a requirement that may be flowed down to vendors. This presentation will cover a brief view of what is behind ISO and who controls it?, i.e. why are the Europeans ahead of us in the ISO world. It will describe the Maryland ISO Consortium and how it can help local companies become certified. One topic will be “What are the challenges, strategies, and approaches becoming ISO certified” as encountered by an ISO 9001 registered company. The program will include a brief preview of the Maryland ISO Consortium.

About the Speaker:

Gary Tichnell is Manager of Product and Process Control at the Northrop Grumman Advanced Technology Lab. He has over 35 years experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Management both at Litton Advanced Systems and Northrop Grumman. Gary is a certified ISO 9001-2000 lead assessor. He is also certified as a CQA and a CQIA.

Directions:

* Visitor parking is available to the right of the CentralBuilding as identified by the orange cones designating ASQ meeting parking. DO NOTPARK IN NUMBERED SPACES. The parking by the Central building is limited. If the spaces are filled, continue to the WestBuilding parking lot and find an unnumbered space. You must walk through the parking lot and enter through the Central building visitors entrance. The meeting will be in conference room 1105 in the Central building. All visitors must sign in at the visitor reception/security desk.


From the Baltimore Washington Parkway, 295, exit at I195 toward the airport. Stay in the right lane and exit on 170 south, Aviation Boulevard. The first traffic light is Gate 1 of Northrop Grumman. Continue to the second traffic light and turn left at Gate 2. The building in front of you is the CentralBuilding where you will sign in for the presentation. There is a limited amount of reserved parking to the right of this building. If this parking is filled, continue south through the parking area until you find an unnumbered space.
