Terms and Conditions of funding

1)Funding is provided at the discretion of City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (City of Bradford MDC). City of Bradford MDC reserves the right to determine which items are eligible for grant funding on a case by case basis.

2)The maximum grant is £5,000 per applicant.

3)BUSINESS APPLICANTS ONLY - The scheme is administered under State Aid De Minimus rules so any grant amount must not take the applicant over the relevant De Minimis limit. By accepting these terms and conditions of grant funding, you are confirming that your business has not received in excess of £148,000 (200,000 Euros) of public funding over the past three years. State aid includes, for example, European Funding, rate relief, deferral of VAT and income tax or other Government support.

4)The grant shall only cover resilience measures required as a direct result of Storms Desmond (5th and 6th Dec 2015) and Eva (25th/26th December 2015).

5)Funding is limited and provided on a first come, first serve basis. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible.

6)You are responsible for correctly evidencing incurred costs. This includes retaining relevant receipts or related payment information, ensuring appropriately qualified and registered professionals undertake required works and provide accurate invoices. If it is discovered that the amounts claimed do not reasonably represent expenditure incurred, then City of Bradford MDC reserves the right to take action to recover the whole or part of the grant.

7)City of Bradford MDC will request evidence of completion of worksto ensure that the grant is paid in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. You must respond to requests for evidence of expenditure within 28 days of the date of request.

8)If you are able to reclaim the VAT the grant offer will be based on the net cost. If you are unable to reclaim the VAT the grant offer will be based on the total cost including VAT.

9)No grant will be paid to a business which is in debt to City of Bradford MDC.

10)Approval of a property level resilience grant does not imply approval under any other legislation. It is your responsibility to comply with all relevant legislation including, for example, building regulations, environmental health etc.

11)Grants should be used for items which have not, and will not, be covered by insurance.

12)All applicants must agree to maintain the resilience / resistance measures undertaken in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions

13)Due to audit regulations applicants may be subject to monitoring for up to 3 years following the final grant payment.

14)Any publicity received by the applicant in relation to grant assisted works must acknowledge the assistance received from The City of Bradford MBC.

15)Any offer of grant may be subject to specific conditions. If applicable, these will be specifically set out in the grant offer letter.

16)A breach of any of the above conditions, or those set out in the grant offer letter may result in refusal of an application, withdrawal of a grant offer, or render the applicant liable to repayment of any grant monies already received.
