The Union Update

August 2010

Ministry Programs Starting!!

Summer is almost over and the Union is gearing up for a new year of programs! High school Campus Life will start meeting again September 13th on Monday nights with the middle school programs starting on September 14th. Middle school dances will start up again in September as well with the first one of the year on the 10th. We are still in need volunteers for the dances- it’s a very easy job and quite a bit of fun!

Welcome, Kim!!

There has a been a staff change at the Union as well. Kim Venhuizen has joined our team as the new Union Manager. We want to thank Randy for his years of service and look forward to Kim’s involvement. Feel free to give Kim a call if you have any questions about Union needs or volunteering or would like more information. Her phone number is 920-382-4438 or email is

Colorado Trip

This year’s trip to Quaker Ridge Camp, Colorado was the biggest yet with 59 people going from this area and Davenport, IA. Pictures are on our website: Click on the Colorado pictures link. Our trip was a great time with a number of kids committing their lives to Christ for the first time and others recommitting their lives again. If you want to hear more about the trip and see additional pictures or view the video of the week talk to Scott or Kim and they would love to show it you.

Copier Needed

The Union is need of a copier for general use copying. If you have an old one at your home/business that is not being used please consider donating it to the Union.

Roof Repaired

Recently a portion of the roof at the Union was replaced/repaired due to leaks that had been detected. The total cost of the repairs was around $17,000. Because of this cost the Union is extremely low on operating funds. Also, this is not the only part of the roof that needs replacing. We are looking for sponsors to help us replenish our general budget funds and repair other parts of the roof. If you would like to help out please call our office or a staff person- all gifts are welcome! You can also go to our website and click on the Donate Now button.
