2016 ALRDC/SWPSC Gas Well Workshop

Workshop Evaluations

No. / What Did You Like? / What Could be Improved? / Recommendations for the Future? / Change the Name? / Other Comment? / Name (Optional) /
1 / ·  Variety of presentations.
·  Service companies’ participation
·  Venue quality. / ·  More focus on gas wells – many presentations could have applied to any well type, particularly oil wells. / ·  Gas separation for pumps in gas wells, chemicals for deliquification, “worst practices” for gas wells / ·  I think this would be a good move – could then be more selective with abstracts. / ·  Sheraton is a great venue, just maybe tough to continue with due to low attendance.
2 / ·  You were able to hold it.
·  Good set of presentations and format (with keynote speaker and breakouts.
·  Good venue and location / ·  It would be nice to get attendance list.
·  If it is a smaller group (like this year), could consider a common meal the first night at a restaurant. But would only work for smaller group (~ 100?) / ·  Could have one on ways to share performance and reliability data between companies. / ·  With change to unconventionals, the line is becoming blurry between “volatile oil” and “liquid rich gas”, so could make sense. Maybe it depends on what industry looks like next year. Will attendance be okay with current format? (Consideration: would lose some focus on verticals, compression, which some may not like) / ·  Excellent venue, meals
·  If you see role for C-FER in ALRDC, please let me know how we could support, and we can discuss. / Kelly Piers
3 / ·  Variety of topics of artificial lift methods covered.
·  Presentation form operators, suppliers and vendors.
·  Industry experts teaching short courses. Great. / ·  Find ways to keep people present for the entire workshop.
·  Set up fewer chairs and tables, so even if there are fewer people, it doesn’t fell “empty”. / ·  Continue current topics.
·  Potential to add artificial lift presentations for emerging plays. i.e. “Artificial lift in the Bakken” or “Al in the Marcellus.” / ·  I think it is wise to include more focus on unconventionals, but important not to squeeze out conventional GWD. Consider adding fourth day for unconventionals? / ·  Hotel accommodations and all provided meals were excellent.
·  Workshop - a great learning experience. Thank you for continuing this workshop amidst challenging times in our industry. / Ben Folks
4 / ·  Legal overview of pending legislation. / ·  Reduce size of auditorium to match size of audience. / ·  Include discussion on oil. / ·  Excellent idea. / ·  Good. / Sean O’Shaughnessy
5 / ·  The breakout sessions – allowed for more info to be shared between attendees. / ·  More unconventional productions presentations. / ·  Unconventional dry gas / ·  Yes.
6 / ·  Presentations were checked before the event.
·  Wide variety of topics.
·  Troubleshooting sessions / ·  Offer web/internet talks for people who are not sponsored due to budget reasons. / ·  Artificial lift for unconventional constrains.
·  Hybrid system.
·  Field long term strategy. / ·  Fully agree. / ·  I like the logistic.
7 / ·  Great workshop overall.
·  Breakout sessions were helpful to hear from people who are actually in the field, not with “theory” mindset.
·  Good topics were presented and very informative. / ·  While information was great, felt dry gas fields were left out. Would‘ve liked another breakout session. / ·  Dry gas applications--NE / ·  Workshop might need to be expanded to 3 days, but great idea. / ·  Food and lodging were great.
8 / ·  Open discussion time in the smaller setting. / ·  More topics and participations.
·  Divide speakers into 2 rooms with each presentation give twice at 2 different times; give ability to pick which presentation to attend. / ·  Plunger assisted gas lift optimization
·  Pros/cons gas lift with/without packers -troubleshooting / ·  Agree
9 / ·  Really enjoyed the plunger lift breakout session. I appreciated the operationally minded speakers’ perspective on real world application /troubleshooting. / ·  More participation would have been nice, but at $30 oil, what can you do? / ·  Any topics that focuses on issues from the Northeast part of the country. / ·  I think that would be highly beneficial. And would help address the unique challenges posed by unconventional wells. / ·  Hotel and meals were excellent. Absolutely no complaints here.
10 / ·  Good presentations. / ·  Power outlets on the tables. / ·  The horizontal well class last year was good. Too bad it was cancelled. / ·  That is a good idea – more rod pump stuff. / ·  A map of the inside workshop location would be nice (on the website).
·  Update the schedule on the website.
11 / ·  I enjoyed the variety of presentations. It helped to see a wide range of topics. / ·  With commodity prices, the low attendance and numbers of presentations by vendors is understandable. That was the only thing I felt was lacking. / ·  I felt the breakout topics were adequate. / ·  I would support this. / ·  Everyone was friendly.
·  Meals were great
·  The hotel was fantastic
12 / ·  Not much. This was my 12th year attending and was by far the worst show regarding attendance, paper and organization. / ·  Why hasn’t it already been done? / ·  Freight charges are equivalent to legalized extortion.
·  Rotate cities, new and improved continuing education courses, and new speakers. / James
Bracken
13 / ·  Seeing new attendees.
·  More attendees than “gloom and doom” nay-sayers thought could be attending.
·  Audio Video in room at back great this year / ·  Need sheet in packet with background introduction paragraph for keynote, plus this allows room for taking notes on presentations.
·  Should have “speaker/presenter gifts given” out to all instructors in their school
·  Only 3 presentations then a break. Plus only schedule to finish by 5 pm / ·  I have already been doing this for many years. Teaching the Suck Rod Lift School—usually with very favorable comments. / ·  Should put ALRDC information in every workshop packet – maybe after cover sheet welcome plus refer to this page on the first page. / Norm Hein
