Newsletter

Hello!

We have just welcomed into our morning sessions Archie- we hope he is enjoying Pre-School.

Curriculum

This month we will be focussing on:

Week of 5th March- Books and stories

Week of 12th March- Letters and letter sounds (am children)) Investigating messy play (pm children)

Week of 19th March-Transport

Week of 26th March- Easter

We break up 3.20 on Thursday 29th March and re-open Monday 16th April.

Stay n Play

We have decided to change the times of these sessions to 10 am- 11.30am. Also- next month, due to the Easter holidays and other commitments we have in April, we are unable to run an April session and therefore the next session will be Wednesday 2nd May.

Safety warning- mini eggs and grapes

There is a warning about the choking hazard associated with children and mini Easter eggs. A child has choked to death whilst eating a mini egg which got stuck in her throat. If this Easter you wish your child to have this treat, please sit with them and supervise them whilst eating them.

Hopefully you are all aware also of the safety issues with giving your child grapes, which have the same hazard and therefore you must half or if not quarter them when giving them to your child to eat.

Wellies

During wet/snowy weather when your child may be wearing wellies, please try and remember to bring a change of footwear. We appreciate it’s not always easy to remember to bring them, with everything else that comes along with adverse weather! Whilst socks are fine- it would be safer with some indoor shoes to prevent slips.

Volunteer

We have had a new volunteer commence with us recently. Romily Thistlethwaite comes on a Friday morning. Many of you may know Romily as she has 2 small boys who attended our pre-school and she lives in Addingham. Romily is a qualified teacher and as with all our volunteers has undertaken all the necessary checks to work with children
