A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE A. C. FLORA HIGH SCHOOL “FALCONS” BOYS BASEBALL TEAM AND COACH ANDY HALLETT ON CAPTURING THE 2001 CLASS AAA STATE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, it has come to the attention of the members of the General Assembly that the A. C. Flora High School Boys Baseball Team of Richland County has won the 2001 Class AAA State Baseball Championship; and

Whereas, the A. C. Flora Falcons used speed, skill, and deft ball handling, and with everyone gasping, to clinch a 43 victory over Travelers Rest to win the Class AAA Championship; and

Whereas, this victory earned them and Coach Andy Hallett their first state baseball championship in the school’s history; and

Whereas, the “Falcons” ended this phenomenal season with a 295 record and carved another niche in A. C. Flora’s history books by having the most wins in one season; and

Whereas, the A. C. Flora High School Baseball Team’s accomplishments this year include: preseason cochampions for Lake Murray Tournament; Runnerup in Sandlapper Spring Break Tournament; and Region IV AAA Champions; and

Whereas, Coach Andy Hallett’s success as the program’s head has been noted by his selection as AAA Coach of the Year by the South Carolina Coaches Association and Regional IV AAA Coach of the Year; and

Whereas, these outstanding athletes, along with their coaches, epitomize the spirit that characterizes true champions; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to publicly recognize and congratulate each player, coach, and school official upon the conclusion of a truly memorable season. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the A. C. Flora High School “Falcons” Boys Baseball Team and Coach Hallett on capturing the 2001 Class AAA State Baseball Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Andy Hallett.
