Equipment/supplies / Paper, charcoal “pencils”, table or area to work. Good lighting. Water and wipes to clean surface and hands. If using pencils you would also need a sharpener.
Facilities required/environment / Any area where clean up is easy
Precautions / Make sure charcoal is not consumed
Sequence/Directions
1. The best way to draw using charcoal sticks is placing the paper vertically so that you do not smudge your arm across the picture
2. Print an outline of a picture and begin to outline with charcoal stick pressing on charcoal stick for different textures and shads of black
3. Charcoal can be broken into small pieces for shading techniques using the tip of side of the charcoal sticks
4.Fingers can be used to draw and shade in areas with dark or light shades
5.Clean area with water and wipes to clean charcoal
