MAIN SUMMARY OF ROLE:
Lead the Regional Fundraising team to deliver the Regional Fundraising strategy and achieve fundraising income and expenditure targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
·  Develop and implement the Regional Fundraising strategy within the overall M&C and Fund wide business plans.
·  Write, review and monitor the annual Regional Fundraising business plan.
·  Set, monitor and achieve budgetary income and expenditure targets and reconcile against management accounts.
·  Lead, manage and develop a team of dispersed Regional Fundraisers (located across the UK) and the Regional Fundraising Executive.
·  Manage a broad portfolio of community fundraising initiatives relevant and appropriate to RAF and non RAF audiences, to include (but not exclusively) Bupa London K, Great North Run etc.
·  Work with DMC and the Regional Fundraisers to manage the Fund’s Champions, volunteers and supporters.
·  Lead the Fund’s merchandise and Christmas card operations, directing the Regional Fundraising Executive as required.
·  Support the delivery of broader communication objectives, acting as an advocate and spokesperson on behalf of the Fund at a local and regional level.
·  Support the delivery of the Fund’s corporate objectives by working with the Regional Directors and other senior members of staff.
·  Identify both opportunities and risks for fundraising and make recommendations on the most effective use of resources and returns on investment.
·  Establish, where required, effective working relationships with RAF personnel.
·  Represent the RAFBF at events where appropriate and undertake a range of presentation and speaking events.
·  Create and implement new Community Fundraising initiatives, to include Treks and Challenges.
·  Undertake projects as specified by DMC.

QUALIFICATION(S), KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE
4. Professional Qualification/Qualification(s) or equivalent:
Essential / Desirable
·  Graduate level of education or similar. / ·  Certificate in Fundraising Management.
·  Member of Institute of Fundraising.
5. Knowledge/ Experience:
Essential / Desirable
·  Proven translation of commercial acumen into the charitable market place.
·  Proven account management skills.
·  Demonstrable experience in Community Fundraising experience, to include challenge events.
·  Demonstrable experience in managing successful fundraising Events.
·  Experience in sourcing merchandise and managing a merchandise operation.
·  Demonstrable experience of writing and implementing a strategy and business plans.
·  Proven ability in setting and achieving income and expenditure targets of £500,000 and above.
·  Proven line management responsibility. / ·  Business to business or business to consumer marketing.
·  Media experience.
·  Setting up and managing volunteer committees.
·  Working with volunteers.
·  Knowledge and awareness of the RAF

Other Requirements:
·  Travel to other Fund and UK locations and occasional overnight stays (as appropriate).

The Trustees of the Fund have adopted a policy of risk management which accords with Charity Commission requirements. Risk management is the responsibility of each member of staff.

Suggestions that might assist the Fund in meeting its objectives in a pragmatic and cost-effective way should be directed to your line manager or the Fund’s Risk Review Coordinator.

Conflict of Interests

You may not, without the consent of the Fund, engage in any outside employment. In accordance with the Staff Handbook, you must declare to your line manager any private interest which could potentially result in personal gain as a consequence of your employment with the Fund. Interests that might appear to be in conflict should also be declared.

Place of Work

You may be required to work on the Fund’s alternative sites from time to time.
