Work Experience: Flotilla Engineer (04/04/2009- 08/11/2009) for Neilson Active Holidays. Duties include engine checks, relaying anchors, mooring up all the flotilla yachts in harbor, responding to any problems that may have occurred during the day, as the flotilla engineer in a lead crew, we’re are constantly on call if there is major or minor problems with any of the yachts.

Apprentice Boatyard Engineer (09/01/2009- 03/04/2009) for Neilson Active Holidays.

Shore based Marine Engineer (29/06/2008- 08/11/2008) for Neilson Active Holidays part of the Thomas Cook Group. Duties included routine maintenance on flotilla & training boats in the Nidri yachting fleet. Typical jobs included engine checks, mechanical repairs on the engines, windlass service, plumbing- unblocking holding tanks, repairing marine electrical systems (domestic & engine systems)

During my gap year between Secondary school and College, I travelled to the Turks and Caicos Islands where I volunteered with the TCI Maritime Heritage Federation helping to restore traditional Caicos sloops. I also volunteered with the Sailing Association’s Youth program taking underprivileged school children sailing on the Caicos sloops.

Upon returning to the UK, I worked at the following temporary jobs before starting at College:-

My short-term objective is to complete a 3-4 year apprentice with a well known company in the marine industry, with the intention of working full-time with a company specializing in marine diesel and/ or outboard engines.
