SCHOOL CLOSINGS

  • We do not plan to open school - the notifications will be made to the stations as early as possible. The announcement may also be made the evening before if it is known that the weather will be very cold and/or stormy.
  • It is important to stay tuned to the TV, radio or Internet, since the situation could change.

LATE START

  • Our standard procedure for late starts is 2 hours. As stated above, the notifications will be made as early as possible or the prior evening.
  • Should it become necessary to change the late start to closing school, the stations will be notified to update the announcement to a closing.
  • Again, it is important to stay tuned to the TV, radio or Internet.

EARLY DISMISSALS

  • It if should become necessary to close during the school day. The stations will be notified as soon as the decision is made, so that parents will know when to expect their children home.
  • Parents should remain alert for announcements. Parents should stay near a radio, TV or the Internet for possible changes on all days of inclement weather.
  • Please make arrangements ~~ If school is dismissed early, parents should have made special arrangements because of the dangers of delivering any children, especially younger ones, to unattended homes. Please plan for an alternate site for your children if these circumstances should arise.

In the Event an Unexpected Storm Develops

If this event occurs and we cannot complete delivery of students to their homes, we will see that they get to their snow homes or keep them at school, if necessary, until arrangements can be made.

~~Important! Please Read Other Side of Sheet!! ~~

No School for Pre-School Students on Late Start Days ~

Pre-school classes will not be held on those days when school begins late.

Please Keep Call to a Minimum ~~

It is important to keep calls concerning this information to a minimum. Please call if you need to do so, however, keeping the calls brief enables the phone lines to be open for all incoming and outgoing calls.

Please Have Students Dress Appropriately ~~

It is vital for students to dress for warmth (heavy jackets, boots, gloves, hats). Bus drivers and staff will monitor the situation. Parents will be called if students are not prepared.

Our Primary concerns will be the safely of the students !!

All of these decisions impact the entire district and the safely of the students.

Not everyone will agree with the decisions.

It is important to know that as parents you make the “ultimate” decisions

Whether or not to send your children as you feel the situation warrants.
