12:00pm Lunch lectionary study
Pastor Ellen invites you to join her at 12:00pm each Tuesday for a casual lunch and a preview of the upcoming Sunday’s lectionary (series of Scripture readings for worship). Drop in as often as you are able and feel free to bring your own brown bag or carry-out lunch.

This is a gathering to look at, study and have conversation about the coming Sunday’s Bible readings.
<MEN>
Men’s study meets at 7:30am each Wednesday morning in the library.
They use the week’s lectionary as the basis for their discussions.

The next women’s study will be at 2:00pm, Monday, August 31st.For discussion, we use thestudy series from the Women of the ELCA gather magazine.
SERVICE OF HOLY BAPTISM
Today we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Baptism as Aaron James Oesterle becomes a member of God’s Kingdom. Aaron is the infant son of Matt and Jenna Oesterle and baby brother of Ben. Serving as sponsors for Aaron are April and Daniel Pinkerton.
JULY STEWARDSHIP FOCUS—EDUCATION
This month we will be focusing on various aspects of education within the life of the Church. On Sunday, July 26, we will take a noisy offering to collect money for scholarships for kids from our congregation who attend various educational experiences throughout the year, i.e., summer camp, Confirmation camp, etc.

JULY 9TH CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
This group will be meeting on Thursday, July 9 from 11:30am- 1:00pm. Lunch will be provided.
Topics for discussion for the next

July 9 – Barb Menino from Tri-County Office on Aging will address dealing with the stress thatcomes with caregiving
August 13 – Speaker from Medical Care Facility and Rehabilitation Services of Ingham County will share information on “Assessment of person being cared for and when to look
at further options”
September 10 –Legal issues and challenges

Reception of new members will take place Sunday, July 12th. Please speak with Pastor Ellen if you are interested in joining our Faith family. In preparation for New Member Sunday, there will be a gathering for new members on Saturday, July 11th at 10:00 a.m. Brunch will be served at 11:00 a.m. Church Council members and Committee chairs are invited for brunch to welcome those joining our Faith community.
THE WILLOWS AT OKEMOS WORSHIP NEXT SUNDAY AT 4:00 P.M.
Next Sunday the 12th, Pastor Ellen will be facilitating a worship service at The Willows at Okemos, 4830 Central Park Drive. Everyone from the congregation is invited to attend and participate as we worship with the Willows residents.
PLANNING MEETING FOR THE COMMUNITY PICNIC & CONCERT
Anyone who is interested in helping at this event is invited to attend a planning meeting on Monday evening, July 13 at 6:30pm.

Let’s enjoy an informal lunch together at Coral Gables at 11:30 a.m. on July 15.
Those attending can then register their opinions about a lunch gathering for— August 19? Alternate time? Coral Gables? New and different venue??
SUNDAY, JULY 19
The Property Team will have a work day right after church on Sunday, July 19 at 10:30am. We will do trimming, weeding, general cleanup and any other tasks needed. Anyone who can trim bushes, haul small branches, etc., is welcome to help. Please let Mark Marquardt, Bob Nelson or Nate Nelson know if you will be able to help. Contact one of them or leave a message with the church office. Rain date will be July 26th. Thank you.
NEXT OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE AT L&F IS JULY 19TH
There is now a Loaves and Fishes sign-up sheet posted on the hallway bulletin board. Faith is responsible for filling the two volunteer spots (from 6-10pm) on the third Sunday of each month.

DIAPER AND PAINT COLLECTIONS

During our time at the National Youth Gathering, we would like to take diapers and paint to donate. If you are able to donate new diapers or leftover cans of latex paint that you have at home, office, shed, garage, etc., please place them in the north/west entryway. The partial cans of paint will be used during our Detroit work day. Thank you for your continued support of our youth!
