Artist's Statement
As a singer / songwriter it is a true privilege to write a song and release it to those who have ears to hear. The song Ted Yuen and I chose to record is an Americana / Bluegrass type of little ditty titled “Yamhill County Reel.” This instrumental song depicts the feeling I get from Yamhill County as a rural community and the emotions that we all try to convey as a small county. It’s the dance we do in this wonderfully compassionate county.
Ted and I recorded this song at Jonathan Swanson's recording studio in Portland in May and June 2013. We had such a great time working with Jonathan, who hears music with incredibly artistic and talented ears. The final mix of “Yamhill County Reel” which is what we are releasing to the public here is wonderful. Digitally awesome and as an .MP3 the sound is great, full and warm as toast.
Rather than releasing “Yamhill County Reel” as a song for profit, we decided it would be better to release it as a fundraiser for the McMinnville Free Clinic MFC. All monetary proceeds will go to the MFC general fund, to be utilized as needed at MFC.
So, for a donation of$1.00 or moreanyone can download “Yamhill County Reel” from the link belowfor their listening and artistic pleasure. What a blessing it is to contribute the money raised from this endeavor to a great charitable 501(C)3 nonprofit, assisting those who need medical attention so desperately and cannot afford that attention.
