Sophie Martin – Chair of Governors, Resources & Standards Committee
/ Sophie is a Trust appointed governor. Her background is working across health and social care, working for many years in Adult social care in London before moving to Suffolk.
Sophie began working for East Coast Community Healthcare, a local community healthcare provider in 2016, as Deputy Director for Adult Services.
Stuart Chase – Vice Chair of Governors, Parent Governor
/ I am a father of 3 and married to Zoe. Cody my youngest attends Phoenix St Peter. He loves the school, which inspired me to become a parent governor. I am a keen cyclist and triathlete outside of work. I race for a local cycling club called ‘Rock Estate’ and have completed in events in the UK and in Europe.
I have been a financial advisor for over 17 years. I have worked for two of the largest insurance companies in the UK in advice based and managerial roles. I now run my own business ‘Chase Financial Planning’. Backed by the largest wealth management company in the UK, we offer all kinds of financial advice to private and corporate clients. Based in Lowestoft, we have clients mainly across the East and South of England.
Nadia Paczuska - Headteacher
/ Nadia qualified as a secondary school teacher in 2001 and moved in to primary schools when she discovered a passion for early learning approaches. She has had leadership roles in a Pupil Referral Unit, two Inner London Primaries and as Headteacher at Phoenix St Peter Academy.
She moved to East Anglia as part of the Talented Leaders Programme to lead in a school which was struggling to achieve good outcomes for its pupils. The impact of her work in improving the school since arriving has been recognized by the Regional Schools Commissioner and the Department for Education. Her areas of expertise are school culture, inclusion and leadership development.
Nadia has two young children, one with learning difficulties, and is committed to supporting other women with children to achieve fulfilment through work and family life.
Sharon Gray OBE – Statutory Grants (including Pupil Premium)
/ Sharon works as an Education Consultant and is the Senior Catalyst for an International Charity – ECL Foundation – whose work and purpose is enhancing children’s lives. She is an active member of the SEND London Leadership Strategy team and works directly with them through the DfE to secure positive outcomes for children and young people experiencing SEND.
Sharon is a co-opted member of Engage In Their Future, formerly NAES, and sits on the national committee that represents SEHM schools. She was an Ofsted inspector for 10 years, enabling her to have a detailed knowledge and understanding of the inspection process and gain new ideas and insights from different schools.
Sabiha Khatri – Staff Governor (Teacher)
/ Sabiha is currently the Upper Phase leader, Visible Learning Impact Coach and class teacher of year 6 at Phoenix St Peter. Academy. As well as this, she is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in becoming a PrimaryMathematics Specialist Teacher from the University of Northampton which she is due to complete in 2018.
With a commitment and dedication to learning, she is devoted to education and the lives of young people. Sabiha is currently the staff governor at Phoenix St Peter Academy and a member of the Standards committee.
Kelly Harris – Parent Governor
/ I'm Kelly Harris, mother to Rosalie, currently loving her school life in the Robin Reception class at Phoenix St Peter.
I am a busy stay at home Mum who enjoys baking, reading and socialising in my spare time and also volunteering at the school listening to some of the children read.
I worked as a Civil Servant at the Lowestoft Magistrates Court for almost 15 years before leaving to start a family.
I am enjoying my role as Parent Governor.
Sarah Smith – Staff Governor
/ Sarah is a support staff member and Staff Governor and has worked at Phoenix St Peter for six years. Her main roles within school are reprographics and office support.
Sarah has a daughter in the reception year and as well as her governor role, she plays an active role in school life.
Dr Lisa Wade – Health and Safety
/ Lisa Wade is an Art Historian and Head of the Department of Arts and Humanities at the newly independent University of Suffolk sited on the historic Ipswich waterfront. She completed her PhD at the University of Essex where she remains an honorary Senior Fellow within the School of Philosophy and Art History.
Lisa’s specialist interests are the imagery of Hell and the Last Judgement in the art of the Italian Renaissance in particular. She has appeared on TV and radio in discussion on the subject and her most recent work in The International Handbook of Visual Criminology will be published by Routledge in the edited edition in Summer 2017.
Lisa is currently engaged in teaching on both the Interior Architecture and Design and History courses at the university.
Lizzy Cantwell – Finance
/ Lizzy works as Financial Controller, Company Secretary and Executive Committee Member for Adnams plc, Southwold. She is responsible for all core financial accounting and reporting systems at Adnams and, as part of her senior leadership role, is also responsible for recommending and executing strategy, financial and risk management, regulatory compliance, communication, and organisational structure.
In her spare time Lizzy is a competitive runner, swimmer and walker.
