NO / COURSE / MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. / Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science (BAS)
(Day Programme) / ·  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) applicants should satisfy all the requirements below:
·  A mean aggregate of at least grade C+ (plus);
·  At least C+ (plus) in both Mathematics and English;
·  Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) or the A-level equivalent should have at least two (2) principal passes including Mathematics;
·  An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate.
2. (a) / Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BIT)
(Day Programme)
Stage 1 / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and C in Mathematics and English (or equivalent) OR
·  KACE with 2 Principal Passes OR
·  JKUAT Diploma in IT with Pass OR
·  An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate.
(b) / Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BIT)
(Day Programme)
Stage II / ·  A Credit pass in JKUAT Diploma in IT OR
·  An equivalent qualification approved by the University Senate.
3. / Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology (BCT)
(Day Programme) / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C+ and an average of Grade C+ in one of the following combinations of three subjects taken in KCSE (or equivalent examination); Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry OR
·  Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences OR
·  An equivalent qualification approved by the University Senate.
4. / Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)
(Full time and Part time – evening and weekends only) / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and C in Mathematics and English (or equivalent) OR
·  KACE with 2 Principal passes and a minimum of a Credit Pass in Mathematics at KCE OR
·  A accredited Diploma in Management and with a credit pass that is recognised by the University senate OR
·  An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate.

5. / Bachelor of Purchasing and Supplies (BPS)
(Full time and Part time - evening and weekends only) / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and C in Mathematics and English (or equivalent) OR
·  KACE with 2 Principal passes and a minimum of a Credit Pass in Mathematics at KCE OR
·  A accredited Diploma in Management and with a credit pass that is recognised by the University senate OR
·  An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate.
6. / Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies
(Day Programme) / ·  KCSE mean Grade C (plain) and C- in both Mathematics and English OR
·  Other qualifications recognized by University Senate.
7. / Bachelor of Business and Information Technology (BBIT)
(Day Programme) / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and C in mathematics and English (or equivalent) OR
·  KACE with 2 Principal passes and a minimum of a Credit Pass in Mathematics at KCE OR
·  A accredited Diploma in Management and with a Credit Pass that is recognised by the University Senate OR
·  An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate.
8. / Diploma in Information Technology (DIT)
(Day Programme) / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C and Grade C-(minus) in Mathematics and English
·  Division II in KCE with at least a Credit pass in Mathematics and English OR
·  KACE with Subsidiary Pass in Mathematics OR
·  An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate.
9. / Diploma in Business Information Technology (DBIT)
(Day Programme) / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C and Grade C-(minus) in Mathematics and English
·  KCE Division III OR
·  KCSE C- plus Certificate in Information Technology (CIT)
·  Relevant discipline from an institution recognised by the University Senate OR
·  Holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.
10. / Certificate in Information Technology
(Day Programme) / ·  KCSE Mean Grade C-(minus) OR
·  Division III in KCE with a Credit Pass in Mathematics and English OR
·  An equivalent qualification recognised by the University Senate.
11. / Bridging Certificate in Mathematics
(Day Programme) / ·  For Certificate applicants: Aggregate Grade C in KCSE, Division III in KCE or the equivalent grade.
·  For Degree &Diploma applicants: Aggregate Grade C+ in KCSE, Division II in KCE or the equivalent grade.
12. / Diploma in County Governance
(4 Semesters) / ·  KCSE Mean of C with C- in Mathematics and English OR
·  KCE Division II with at least Pass in both Mathematics and English OR
·  Credit pass in County Governance Certificate course from JKUAT OR
·  Credit pass in any relevant certificate course with at least KCE Div. III with at least a Pass in Mathematics and English OR
·  Any other qualifications accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.
NO / COURSE / MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
13. / Certificate in County Governance
(3 months) / ·  Be a holder of KCSE with a minimum aggregate of C- OR
·  Be a holder of KCE division IV with at least a Pass in both Mathematics and English/Kiswahili OR
·  Be a holder of a Credit pass in any relevant certificate course from an institution recognized by the University OR
·  Holders of KCSE mean grade D- may be admitted to the certificate course provided they have at least two (2) years experience in County/Local authorities environment OR
·  Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.

Ph.D. AND MASTERS PROGRAMMES

10. / Master of Science in Software Engineering / ·  Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Technology/Information Technology, Mathematics and Computer Science, and Electronic Engineering of at least Second Class Honours(Upper Division) of JKUAT OR
·  Holders of a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline: Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics and Physics of at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science of a minimum Credit pass from an institution recognized by senate or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by Senate. OR
·  Any other qualification from an institution recognized by senate and equivalent to (a) and (b) above.
11. / Master of Science in Chemistry: Analytical, Organic and Natural products and Inorganic
. / ·  A holder of at least Second Class Honours, (Upper Division) having studied Chemistry either as a single subject or as one of two science subjects at Bachelor Degree level or its equivalent from a university recognised by the Senate. OR
·  Under exceptional circumstances a holder of at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) having studied chemistry either as a single subject or as one of two science subjects at Bachelors Degree level or its equivalent may be registered provided the candidate produces evidence of proven post graduate research ability / 2 years

12. / MSc Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology / ·  Holder of a Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours(Upper division) in the following: Biochemistry or Molecular Biology Biological & Agricultural Sciences: Computer Science: Maths and/Statistics: Physical Sciences
·  Engineering and Health Sciences with sufficient background of biochemistry in undergraduate and Computer Sciences / 2 years
Part time – (evening)
13. / MSc. Applied Statistics / ·  A Bachelors Degree in statistics with at least Upper Second Class Honours (Upper Division)
·  A Bachelors in Mathematics & Majored in Statistics
·  A holder of a quantitative degree not necessarily in statistics with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from JKUAT or any other University recognised by senate but with work experience in Statistics OR
·  A holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Class honours or its equivalent may be eligible for registration provided the candidate can produce evidence of proven research ability in an appropriate branch of statistics. / 2 years
Part time – (evening)
14. / Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Statistics / ·  A Bachelors degree in Statistics with at least second class honours- Lower Division
·  A Bachelors in Mathematics & Majored in Statistics
·  A holder of a quantitative degree not necessarily in Statistics with at least Lower second class honours from JKUAT or any other University recognised by the Senate but with relevant work experience in Statistics / 1 year Part time

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Applications will be made on prescribed forms obtained from the Campus Finance Department upon payment of non-refundable fees of Kshs Kshs 1,500/= for Masters/Bachelors degree Courses, 1,000/= for all Diploma Courses and Kshs. 500/= for Bridging/Certificate Courses. Duly completed application forms with copies of transcripts/result slips should be returned to the Campus Administration Office by 17TH AUGUST, 2012.

LOCATION:

JKUAT Nairobi Campus is located about 10km from the City Centre on the Kabarsiran Avenue off Waiyaki Way, Next to Kianda School and opposite Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK). It is easily accessible by public means. Public transport is by mini buses (or matatus) plying routes 22, 23, 30,105 and 131 boarded at Odeon Cinema and behind Kenya National Archives along Tom Mboya Street.
