A. Personal Statement
I am a practicing clinician educator with collaboration in translational research utilizing my skills as a surgical pathologist and cytopathologist. The majority of my time is spent in direct patient care in surgical pathology and cytopathology. I also participate actively in the education of pathology residents and the surgical pathology and cytopathology fellows at our instititution. I direct the UNM Human Tissue Repository, and in that role, I work with the NCI OBBR in optimizing human biospecimen quality through a competitive contract awarded August, 2010. My clinical-research interests comprise tumors of the soft tissues and bone, breast tumors, and tumors of the head and neck.
