Teaching Assistant, Field Supervisor, Co Lab Director and Researcher

Teaching assistant while pursuing aterminal Masters Degree in Anthropology, responsibilities included mentoring students, editing, administering and grading tests and grading assignments

Field Supervisor for four seasons of field school and Co Lab director for one semester. Responsibilities included supervising excavation crews during archaeological digs, archival and historical research, recording and editing required paperwork, identification, recording and researching artifacts and supervising and proofreading all student paperwork. Sites included Magnolia Plantation, The Levi Jordan Plantation and Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

  • Researched all toys for two archaeological sites including identification, seriation, archival evidence, written documentation and permanent record into database. Used this research to complete master’s thesis and to add to required National Park System and State of Texas reports
  • Created methodology for logging artifacts using an Access database, SQL queries and SPSS (IBM statistical tool) analysis, supervised and proofed all input into this database as performed by students

  • Reported directly to the CIO and was responsible for an insurance system called LifePRO.
  • Workedin a conversion team responsible for multiple data conversions from various systems. This included changing COBOL source code to conform toAmerican Capitol’s processesand procedures, end user reporting and documentation, data and source checking and proofing all policy holder information to assure accuracy.
  • Created ad-hoc reporting systems using Access, SQL and Micro focus COBOL
  • Responsible for providing and data checking reports for the Texas Department of Insurance during audits
