Extracts From The Earl Of Abergavenny’s Log Books
Source: extracts from the log books of the Earl of Abergavenny previously in the India Office Library. The library had numerous documents relating to the East India Company and its ships, which have now been transferred to the Oriental and India Office Collections at the British Library.

Built by Pitcher, launched 1796, 3 decks, 5in thick bottom, 176ft 11in long, length of keel 143ft 11.5in, breadth 43ft 8in, depth of hold 17ft 6in, height of wing transom 27ft, height of port cell 29ft 8in, depth of waist 3ft 9.5in, 6ft 7in between lower and middle decks and 6ft 8in between middle and upper, roundhouse 6ft 6in, 15 ports on middle deck and 15 on upper, deck range 104ft 2in, gun room ports 1ft 8.5in by 2ft 5in, 1,460 tons.
