2009.M1.7 of the Executive Minutes: It was noted that Student Forum would be held on the 1st October, at 19:00, the venue yet to be confirmed.

2009.M1.8 of the Executive Minutes: I was noted that the Executive broadly discussed the proposal be the Dean of Students to allow all first year Oppidan Students to remain in residence during Orientation Week.

2009.M1.9 of the Executive Minutes: It was brought to the attention of the Executive that the Vice-Chancellor was displeased that the SRC did not thank the staff which worked in the kitchens during the strike. The Executive moved to remain neutral on the matter and to treat the matter with delicacy.

2009.M1.8 of the Executive Minutes: Executive discussed the notion of whom to place in the additional seat which the SRC held on the University’s Council. The Executive moved to allocate the position to a member of the SRC Council rather than a member of the student body.

2009.M1.9 of the Executive Minutes: It was noted that Councillors must urgently submit their portfolio budgets as the general SRC budget has to be complied.

2009.M2.8MATTERS ARISING FROM EXECUTIVE MINUTES

2009.M1.10 of the Executive Minutes: The Executive was asked to clarify the two different positions in this matter.

Arguments against the motion: it was argued that a member of the general student body would provide valuable knowledge, experience and perception. Additionally, the SRC currently if predominantly undergraduate and electing a postgraduate would provide postgraduate with greater representation.

Arguments for the motion: it was argued that the SRC is to represent all the students, that includes the postgraduates, therefore the postgraduates do not need their own seat on the University’s Council.

2009.M1.11 of the Executive Minutes: The SRC Treasurer indicated that the portfolio budgets of the pervious SRC would be circulated after the meeting.

The urgency for the submission of the portfolio budgets was illustrated, and it was indicated that budgets must be submitted by the 25th September.
