Please refer to the Code of Student Conduct for more information, Note that cell phone use is considered a distraction in the classroom and will not be tolerated. To receive credit for attendance you must arrive to the lab by the start time and work the entirety of fifty minutes. No partial credit will be given for partial attendance. Students are required to attend both lecture and recitation. Students must provide official written verification of any authorized absences. Students with more than five absences may be administratively dropped for nonattendance.

Notes:

1) This syllabus is subject to be changed as the instructor deems necessary. Any/all changes will be announced during regular class time. It is the responsibility of the student to attend each scheduled class to be informed of these changes.

Students are required to attend the recitation section in which they are enrolled. There are only two exceptions to this policy:

1.Authorized Absences

a.Students who present their UTA with a letter from their coach/advisor stating that they will participate in an officially sanctioned university activity may attend a different recitation section during the same week, preferably with the same UTA.

b.Students must present their UTA with an Authorized Absence Card signed by the Dean of Students within three days of returning from the authorized absence in order for their score to be transferred into the correct gradebook.

2.Religious Holidays

a.Students who are observing a religious holiday may also attend a different recitation section during the same week, preferably with the same UTA.

I will drop one recitation at the end of the semester to cover all other cases (e.g., sickness, family emergency, etc.).

2) You are responsible for meeting all university deadlines, such as: registration, fee payment, drop deadlines, etc. Refer to the printed Schedule of Classes and/or University Catalog for policies and dates.

Disability Accommodations:

The University of North Texas makes reasonable academic accommodation for students with disabilities. Students seeking accommodation must first register with the Office of Disability Accommodation (ODA) to verify their eligibility. If a disability is verified, the ODA will provide you with an accommodation letter to be delivered to faculty to begin a private discussion regarding your specific needs in a course. You may request accommodations at any time, however, ODA notices of accommodation should be provided as early as possible in the semester to avoid any delay in implementation. Note that students must obtain a new letter of accommodation for every semester and must meet with each faculty member prior to implementation in each class. For additional information see the Office of Disability Accommodation website at You may also contact them by phone at 940.565.4323.
