The information provided in this package will assist you in planning your financial commitments for the 2016 school year.
By taking action on this information, you will be able to ensure that your student is fully equipped for the school year.
Please read the information carefully, complete the relevant sections of the attached proformas, and return to the school office.

Benefits of Joining the Scheme
For participants, the Scheme provides the following:
- Long-term loans of textbooks for classroom and/or home use
- Electronic textbooksoftware licensing fees (e.g. Horizons Laptop Program, 1:1 student laptops)
- Short-term loans for classroom and/or home use (e.g. plays or novels studied in English)
- Use of class sets (e.g. textbooks, atlases, dictionaries etc.)
- Use of reference materials, including CD software and online programs
- Teacher-prepared booklets and worksheets
- Reproduced class materials which complement textbooks or substitute for textbooks
- Student reference books
- Replacement of obsolete books and resources, service improvement costs and new resources
- Reference audio, video tapes, clickview
- Homework diary
- Student ID card
- Access to and use of the internet for class work and/or research. Provision of additional computer-based programs outside class times
- Printing costs associated with computer use
If NOT joining the Scheme you must purchase/provide materials, resources and textbooks for each subject area.

Burnside SHS’s compulsory school fees for 2016 include an annual School Sports Levy of $10 per student that acts as a contribution toward school sport-related expenses.
Resources and activities that this levy is used to fund include:
- Compulsory per capita District Sports Association affiliation fees
- Transport to and from the Nambour Pool (and pool entry) for our Inter-House Swimming Carnival
- Travel costs associated with Year 7, 8, 9 Interschool Sport
- Transport provided for students representing the school at District Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics events
- Sports-specific uniform purchasing and replacement
- Provision of sports equipment for school teams as well as for lunchtime use
- School weights room maintenance (accessible by all students at Recess)
