Dr Robert G Padanyi

Ph.D (Medicine), MBBS

Following an early career in Pharmacology and a Ph.D. from the Department of Medicine, University of Melbourne, Dr Padanyi undertook medical studies and graduated MBBS in 1983. He worked full time as a Public Hospital Medical Officer for the next three years, located in Ballarat, where he gained extensive hands-on experience in all aspects of medical, surgical and general practice care. Since 1987, Dr Padanyi has continued his work in private general practice. He established Medical Centre 291 in Feb 2001 with

Dr Peggy Zeng

Dr Peijian (Peggy) Zeng

MBBS, DRAGOG, FRACGP

Dr Zeng undertook her medical studies and graduated MBBS in 1989 from Jinan University, Guangdong, China. Through continued education, studies and training, Dr Zeng subsequently obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, together with a Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has a special interest in women’s health, antenatal shared care, postnatal depression, common problems in children, asthma management and acupuncture (for which she trained in China). Dr Zeng speaks three different Chinese dialects – Mandarin, Cantonese and Tao-chew.

Dr Russell Searle

MBBS

Dr Searle graduated MBBS in 1979 from the University of Melbourne. He completed his internship at Maroondah hospital in 1980 and then commenced fulltime services as a Medical Officer in the Royal Australian Air force. After serving with the RAAF in Laverton (VIC), Point Cook (Vic), Canberra, West Australian and Adelaide, he returned to Victoria in 1990 where he worked at RAAF Williams, Laverton, until he retired from the RAAF and completed a year of clinical training through the Family Medicine Program, including 3 month rotations at Box Hill Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital. Since 1998, Russell has worked in General Practice in Hoppers Crossing and for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service from 2007 -2009.

Dr Alan Kwong

MBBS

Dr Kwong graduated MBBS in 2006 at University of Melbourne and has worked full time at the Eastern Health.

During that time he has gained extensive experience in children's health, medical emergency and surgical procedures. He has special interest in children's health and travel medicine. Dr. Kwong is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Victoria (Vicky) Gershenzon

MBBS

Dr Gershenzon graduated MBBS in 2010 from the University of Melbourne and worked full time on the Mornington Peninsula during her residency. During this time, she gained broad experience in all aspects of general practice, including children’s and women’s health, as well as mental health. Her special area of interest is Aged Care, in which she gained experience working at the Mornington and Rosebud hospitals. Dr Gershenzon is fluent in English and Russia.

NURSING STAFF

Robyn Dell RN Div 1/Midwife

Robyn, our practice nurse, has over 20 years experience as a Registered Nurse / Midwife. The past 16 years at Werribee Mercy Hospital. As a Registered Midwife she has a special interest in Antenatal Care, Women’s and Children’s health. Robyn assists the GP’s with immunisations, care plans, diabetes management & wound

care. Hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and alternate Saturday mornings.

ADMINISTRATION STAFF

Barbara (Practice Manager) Terry, Sally and Megan the reception staff. Staff members have experience in medical reception and are very happy to help in any way. Please feel confident in seeking their assistance.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of our practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff. Any requests from you for access to your personal health information is handled by your GP in accordance with the Privacy Amendment (private sector) Act, 2000.

YOUR RIGHTS: If you have a problem, we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or reception staff. You may prefer to write to us or use our Service Improvement form. However, if you wish to take your concerns further and feel that you need to discuss the matter outside of the surgery, there are several options available, including the Medical Registration Board, Australian Medical Association, and Health Care Complaints Commission.

CANCELLATION OF APPOINTMENT

Please ring if you are unable to attend any appointment, as this will allow everyone to have access to times, days and doctors when needed. Your help in this regard is much appreciated.

REFUSAL OF SERVICE

To ensure patient and staff safety, Medical Centre 291 maintains the right to refuse service to a patient if they are under the influence of alcohol or other substances, sexually harassing people, or behaving in a threatening manner.

MEDICAL FORMS/ PRE EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS

Due to the time involved in completing forms ( eg Licence Applications,Insurance forms, Centrelink forms etc )

Please inform the receptionist at the time of booking to allow sufficient time for the consultation.

Pre employment medicals do incur a non-claimable fee. Ask at reception when making your appointment.

FEES

SURGERY CONSULTATION FEES are due on the day of your visit and can be paid in cash, by cheque or Eftpos

On line Medicare claiming is available.

The fee lists is displayed in the reception area of the surgery or please ask the Receptionist at the time of making your appointment. Special arrangements will be considered in cases of financial hardship; however, this must be discussed with the doctor during your consultation. After hours consultation fees apply after 1pm on Saturday. Online claiming of your Medicare rebate is now available.

WORKCOVER CONSULTATIONS are paid for by the patient at the time of consultation unless a valid

current claim number can be provided.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

IMMUNISATIONS Are conducted on Mondays , Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings, by appointment. These are carried out by our practice nurse (Robyn) and your GP.

This service is fully bulk-billed.

PATHOLOGY Services are provided by St Vincents Pathology and are bulk-billed to all patients for your convenience

HOME VISITS Are available for Medical Centre 291 patients and are assessed on an individual medical needs basis.

LONG CONSULTATIONS Appointments can be made on request.

TEST RESULTS Your doctor will advise you at the time of consultation when they expect the results to arrive at the practice. Call and confirm your results are in and make an appointment to obtain your results from the doctor.

REMINDER SYSTEM Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included in our reminder system. We will ring you or send you a reminder notice offering preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system, please inform your doctor or reception staff.

TELEPHONE ACCESS To the GP’s may be made during normal surgery hours. If the GP is with a patient, a message will be taken and the reception staff will advise you when your call is likely to be returned. In the case of URGENT EMERGENCY medical attention dial 000.

AFTER HOURS Outside of normal surgery hours, home visits can be arranged by contacting our locum doctor service, Home Doctor Service on 13 74 25.

Dr Dunne has worked as a Paediatrician in Werribee since 1987. He graduated from the University of

Melbourne and did his paediatric training at the Royal Childrens Hospital. He then did post-graduate

training in developmental medicine at the Seattle Childrens Hospital before returning to Melbourne in

1986. He has worked at the Royal Childrens Hospital since 1986 and is the Clinical Director of Rehabilitation
