Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Improvements Project

The Village of Urbancrest, the OWNER, will receive sealed Bids for the Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Improvements Project at the Administrative Office, Attn: Mayor Joseph L. Barnes, Sr., at 3357 Central Avenue, Urbancrest, OH 43123, February 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM local time. No Bids will be received after that time. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Village Municipal Building, located at 3492 First Avenue, Urbancrest, OH 43123, February 21, 2011 at 2:15 PM local time.

3,500 feet of cured-in-place pipe lining of 8, 10 & 18 inch sanitary sewer, 120 feet of open-cut pipe replacement, reconstruction of 11 storm sewer manholes and associated site restoration.

Bidding Documents may be examined at the following locations after February 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM:

Bird Houk a Division of OHM, 600 Creekside Plaza, Gahanna, OH 43230

Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office of the ENGINEER, Bird Houk upon payment of forty dollars ($40.00) non-refundable deposit. An additional, non-refundable charge of ten dollars ($10.00) will be required for mailing Bidding Documents. Bidders should direct correspondence to the ENGINEER.

The Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Cost for this project is $330,000.00

Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond for a sum no less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the Bid, and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders must be submitted with each Bid. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the actual date of opening thereof. This time period may be extended by mutual agreement of the Owner and any Bidder or Bidders.

Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance

with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.

Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all

persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than July 29, 2011.

All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio

Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.

Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Franklin County and the Village of Urbancrest, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239.

The Village of Urbancrest reserves the right to accept any or all Bids and award the contract to other than the lowest bidder, to waive any irregularities or informalities or both; to reject any or all Bids; and in general to make the award of the Contract in any manner deemed by the Village, in its sole discretion, to be in the best interest of the Village.
