WAKULLA COUNTYCHAMBER AND CENTURYLINK PARTNER TO RECOGNIZE AREA BUSINESSES

Crawfordville, Florida - The Wakulla County Chamber of Commerceis pleased to announce our partnership with CenturyLink. CenturyLink is a long-time supporter of the Chamber and is WakullaCounty’s local providerfor high-speed internet, digital TV and phone services. Underthis partnership, CenturyLinkwill serve as the premier sponsor of the 2011 Wakulla County Chamber Business Excellence Awards.

The Business Excellence Awards are designed to recognize a Wakulla County Chamber Business of the Year, Start-up Business of the Year, Non-Profit Organization of the Year, and an Environmental Stewardship Business of the Year. These businesses are nominated and selected from current Chamber memberships.

The Wakulla County Chamber Business Excellence and Environmental Stewardship Awards were established seven years ago to recognize Wakulla County Chamber businesses for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the community. The Chamber Business of the Year Excellence Award is presented to a Chamber member that has excelled in their industry. To encourage environmental responsibility, The Environmental Stewardship Award will be given to a Chamber member that owns and operates a commercial business or creates a residential development that promotes responsible environmental preservation and helps to protect and/ or better understand our natural resources and environment.

Established last year, The Wakulla Area Business ExcellenceAward is open to everyone in the community to nominate a business they believe best exemplifies excellence in business, whether a member of the chamber or not.

In these tough economic times the Chamber plays a vital role in ensuring that all businesses are supported and encouraged, regardless of their membership status, and we will continue to work to make sure all businesses receive the best representation possible.

The Chamber recognizes that there are many deserving local businesses who demonstrate the attributes that create strong partnerships between community and business and we want to recognize them for their contributions.
