2011 Fannin County Fair Breeding Fowl Show

Breeding Fowl entries are to arrive on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 between 10:00 am and 8:00 PM ONLY.

They are to be in place by 8:00 pm.

Breeding Fowl may begin leaving the barn between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 8. If they have not left by 5:00 pm they will need to remain until after the Market Sale is over.

1.  All General Rules and Regulations apply.

2.  Exhibitor is responsible for all feeding and watering during the show. Due to the heat/sun WATER will need to be in place AT ALL TIMES. Please provide water containers that will tie to the cage so they do not spill.

3.  BREEDING FOWL cannot arrive without a copy of proof of Pullorum-Typhoid test within 90 days of date of show. The original copy of the test results may be kept by exhibitor to use at future shows (as they are valid for a year), but a copy MUST be provided to the show superintendent prior to any fowl being placed into pens. **NO EXCEPTIONS**

4.  Due to the past confusion of SUBSTATUTIONS of FOWL in classes, the superintendent is asking each exhibitor to make contact with show personnel BEFORE birds are placed into pens. Provide Test Results at this time and indicate if the exhibitor is substituting any birds.

5.  BREEDING CHICKENS MUST BE tested by Dusty Boullion prior to Show entry. You may contact him at 903-327-6947 to make arrangements for him to come by your place and test your flock. If you have PEA Fowl (Peacocks, Turkeys, Guineas, etc…) the results will take 1 month to return. Do not wait until the last minute to call and expect Dusty to be able to fit you in. Call at least 1 month prior to show. If you only have chickens your results will be given at the time of testing. The original copy will need to be retained for future shows (if needed) and a copy can be sent with your Fannin County Fair Breeding Fowl Show Entry form or provided at the time of arrival BEFORE fowl are placed into pens. You will not be allowed to show without this test paperwork. TESTING WILL NOT BE DONE AT THE SHOW GROUNDS AS BEFORE!!!!

6.  NO BIRDS ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE BARN AREA WITHOUT THIS TEST. NO EXCEPTIONS!

7.  Breeding Fowl showing signs of sickness will not be allowed.

8.  There is NO LIMIT to the number of entries a single exhibitor may enter.

9.  Exhibitor MUST advise on entry form the correct Age, Breed and Variety of the Fowl:

a.  Divisions are Large Fowl and Bantam Fowl

b.  Sexes are to be divided as:

i.  Cocks - Males over 1 year

ii.  Cockerels - males under 1 year

iii. Hens - Females over 1 year

iv.  Pullets - Females under 1 year

10.  Production Pens will consist of three Females of the same breed and variety, any age (Large Fowl only), matching in size, color and laying characteristics, and entry fee will be $10.00 per pen.

11.  Trio Pens will consist of 1 Male and 2 Females of the same breed and variety and the entry fee will be $10.00 per pen. Exhibitor must designate young/old and Large/Bantam group:

a.  Trio Pens may be shown as a Young Trio (all birds under 1 year of age)

b.  Trio Pens may be shown as an Old Trio (all birds over 1 year of age)

12.  There will be a one time $5.00 office charge for the Breeding Fowl show per exhibitor. Premiums will be paid

13.  Exhibitor must use the Fannin County Fair Breeding Chicken Entry Form.

14.  Judging will be done according to the Standard of Perfection for each breed.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATON***
