Dear Orchestra Member Parents,
The Aurora Orchestra Association would like to welcome you to the 2010-2011 orchestra year. The AOA is a booster group for the orchestra, and we do the following:
· Provide awards, from 4th grade participation ribbons to college scholarships for seniors.
· Sponsor the Aurora Solo Competition and provide the prizes.
· Help to fund the Mark Wood workshop, coming again in 2012.
· Sponsor the Fall Family Hayride and the Spring Dance (our major fundraisers)
· Assists the instructors at the concerts
· Manage the uniforms for the high school
As with any organization we need the help of the people we benefit to succeed. Please take a minute to read over the following volunteer options. Please select two areas where you would be willing to help and return this sheet to Mr. Burdett by Sept 10th. All orchestra parents are invited to an AOA General Meeting on Monday, Sept. 13th at 6:30 PM in the H.S. Orchestra room to learn more about the organization. We will also be touring the new H.S. Music Facilities.
______Fall Family Hayride. Friday,Oct. 8th 6:00-8:30 PM at Moore Farm
Volunteers will be admitted to this event for free. Responsibilities consist mainly of chaperoning
In various areas at the hayride.
______Spring Dance Donations. We will gladly accept items to be raffled at the dance. This dance
provides a large portion of our budget and allows us to eliminate other fund raising.
______Spring Dance Volunteers. – Date TBA 6:00-9:00 PM in Harmon Commons
Volunteers will be admitted free to this event. Responsibilities consist of assisting at the dance (chaperoning, serving ice cream and drinks, collect admissions, etc.)
______Concert Refreshments and Reception Help. Help provide refreshments or man the refreshment tables

meetings.
