Topic / Role Play and Dialogue:
Language Focus / Students will engage in role play for the following scenarios and learn key English phrases and vocabulary, improving their ability to interact in an In-flight scenario. Advanced students will be able to practice by checking-in other students and acting as the in-flight attendant. (~10 -15 minutes with introduction)
Learning Objectives / 1.  Students will converse and participate in activities using the English vocabulary and dialogue commonly used in an airport and aboard an airplane.
2.  Students will be guided by the foreign teacher in an interactive and enjoyable real-life scenario using the English language.
3.  Students will use English to accomplish the following communication tasks:
a.  Check in at an airport.
b.  Check baggage in at the counter.
c.  Pass through a security check.
d.  Board an aircraft and select an in-flight meal.
e.  Arrive at the customs area and proceed to the Departure area.
4.  Students will use and understand key vocabulary and phrases relevant to a specific communication scenario/role play.
5.  Students may eventually practice listening and writing skills by filling out an arrival card.
6.  Students may eventually fill out forms to check for comprehension/understanding.

Attendant: Hello, what is your name?
Passenger: My name is ______.

Passenger: “I am going to Penghu, off the coast of Taiwan.”
Attendant: “May I see your passport please?
Passenger: “Here you are.”
Attendant: Thank you, how many bags do you want to check-in?
Passenger: I have 1 bag.
Attendant: Here is your passport and ticket.
Your seat number is ______.
Passenger: Thank you.
Attendant: Your welcome.
2) Security Check: (~10 minutes with introduction)*
Security Officer: May I see your passport and Ticket please?
Passenger: Here you are.
Security Officer: Where are you going today?
Passenger: I am going to Penghu.
Security Officer: Do you have any liquids?
Passenger: Yes, I have some water.
Security Officer: Sorry, please throw away your water and
place your bag in the X-ray machine.
3) Airplane Cabin (Conversation #1) and Departure: Advanced students will assist the teacher in playing the role of the flight attendant (10-15 minutes with introduction)*
Flight Attendant: Welcome aboard. May I see your ticket?
Passenger: Here you are.
Flight Attendant: You are in seat ______.
Flight Attendant: Would you like chicken, pork or pizza?
Passenger: I would like ______, please.
Flight Attendant: What would you like to drink?
Passenger: May I have some ______ please? (Juice, Soda, and Water)
Flight Attendant: Sure, here you go.
Passenger: Thank you
Flight Attendant: Your welcome
