1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressantis a biodegradable, concentrated water management tool, for use wherever dust suppressionis required, such as:
Mine haul roads
Stockpiles
Construction Sites
Unsealed roads
Parking Areas
Longwall mining
3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant is a waterbased solutionwhich includes a blend of wetting agents. The wetting agents are designed to accelerate water penetration and increase water retention of the road surface.
3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant,when used according to instructions, enables a reduction in water consumed for dust suppression purposes.Repeated applications have a cumulative effect, maintaining subsoil moisture content for long periods, depending on soil types, traffic and weather conditions. 3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant has been formulated to lower water surface tension, allowing it to penetrate and effectively knockdown dust particles
A recommended dilution rate of 0.1% means a 20 litre pail of 3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant is added to 20,000 litres of water. Higher dilution rates can be applied, dependant upon site conditions.Consult your 3M representative.

3. Recommended Application method
3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant can be applied by water trucks equipped with rotary pump and spray manifold or by water cannon. / 4. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
It is recommended that 3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant is added directly from the pail to the water vessel, however a dosing pump may be used if desired. To avoid excessive foaming, 3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant should be added to the water vessel after the water has been loaded. The product self mixes during truck movement.
5. APPLICATION
Nominal dilution is 0.1% in water, at a recommended maximum coverage of 0.5 litres per square metre per application pass. Diluted product should be applied as often as required to control dust. It is not necessary to stop traffic to allow application; however care should be taken to avoid applying excessive solution at road corners. For stock piles and other low traffic zones, it is recommended that 3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressantis applied at 0.2% dilution.
Higher application rates and dilution levels may be required for a high temperature or windy environment, according to the conditions at individual sites. Discuss this with your 3M representative or 3M Technical Service.

7. Environmental
All ingredients of 3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant have been assessed as biodegradable. It is unlikely to have significant effects on wastewater treatment organisms or aquatic life; however measures should be taken to avoid release of any chemical additivesdirectly into waterways.
8.HANDLING and STORAGE
When diluted, 3M SDS-2 Dust Suppressant does not present any unusual hazards. The diluted product is not classified
as hazardous according to the criteria of National Exposure StandardsAustralia. When applying the diluted product, good industrialhygiene practices should be used to minimize any exposure topotential skin, eye or respiratory contact.
3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressantis stable when stored under normal warehouse conditions, for 5 years from manufacture. Do not freeze. Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
9. PACKAGING
3M™ SDS-2 Dust Suppressant is packaged in recyclable 20 litre, 200 litre & 1000 litrecontainers.
