Minutes of Meeting
August 8, 2013
The Stephenville Bass Club met in regular session on August 8, 2013 at the VFW Hall with 15members attending.
President Eddie Fondon called the meeting to order at 7:34 PM.
Reports
Minutes:
The minutes of previous meeting were read and approved with no corrections to minutes.
Treasurer:
Jimmy Thurman gave the General Fund Treasurer's report - $2,339.41 in bank account. Jerry Land gave the SBC Charity Corporation Treasurer report - $ 6,802.62 in bank account. $3,500 is on deposit for VFW Ladies which gives SBC Charity a balance of $3,302.62. Combined total of the bank accounts is $ 9,142.03 with available funds of $5,642.03.
Charity Corporation
Jerry gave report of the Charity Corporation. The Stephenville Bingo Unit is now composed of the Stephenville Bass Club and the DAV Organization. VFW group is no longer a part.
The following is a list of donations from the SBC – 1)Erath County 4-H Clubs: $200 for the Annual 4-H Banquet to be held on Aug. 13th; 2) Cowboy Capital MS Trail Ride in honor of Randy Smith: $150. Received other requests but no action taken.
Memorial for Monty Durant - $ 100 to the Tolar Baptist Church – Monty was a member of SBC before getting ill.
Have been asked to fry fish for the Stephenville Senior Citizen’s Grandparent’s Day event on September 5, 2013, at 5pm.
Club Tournament
Ira Wooten gave the July 2013–Lake Proctortournament report and Robbie Wooten presented checks to the winners.
Below is the Lake Proctor tournament results: First Place – Ricky Crim (11.54 lbs); Second Place – E. A. Merrill; Third Place –Michael Rainey; Fourth Place: Eugene Ray; Big Bass – Ricky Crim.
Next item was the nomination of lakes for September tournament site. They were voted on as follows: Lake Whitney (7), Lake Brownwood (3) and O.H. Ivie (4). Lake Whitney will be the September lake on September 7 & 8. Special Note: early weigh in on Sunday is due to special invitation to join Jerry Land in celebrating his 70th birthday that day. It will be at the S’ville City Park, large pavilion, at 6pm.
Members voted to have the start time to be as follows: Saturday _6:00 am to 3:00 pm and Sunday _5:00 am to 2pm. Headquarters to be the Red Bluff Ramp.
A drawing was then held for the free pass into the September tournament. E. A. was the winner of the draw.
Membership
Members welcomed new members – John Goodell, Nick Brady, Eric McCoy, and Rody Grimm by majority vote.
Old Business
Club Hats:
Jimmy is working on the acquisition.
New Business
Hunter is moving and will no longer be the Vice President. John Bryant will be the new Vice President. Passed by majority vote of the Club members.
