This event involves all 12 schools in the North Central Bowling Conference. 24 boys and 24 girls will be invited to participate in the event. Each school will select two boy participants and two girl participants to participate. Participants are generally chosen by their scoring average over a minimum of 10 games.
Coaches are asked to email the names of participating bowlers to OHS AD Travis Druvenga at and OHS Bowling coach Dean Hendricks at Please send these by noon on Thursday, Feb. 9.
Tournament Format:
Round 1--Qualifying: 3 pairs of lanes (6 lanes) will be used for each boys and girls qualifying rounds. Bowlers will throw a three-game series, throwing one game on each pair of lanes. The top 8 scores will advance to round two, which will be a single-elimination bracket format. Ties will be awarded to the bowler with the higher qualifying average from the regular season (roll-offs are not an option due to daily game limits).
Round 2-Single-Elimination 8-person bracket: The 8 advancing bowlers will be put into a single-elimination bracket, seeded by that day’s scores. Winners of the head-to-head game will advance. Ties will be awarded to the person with the higher seed. Medals will be provided to the champion and runner-up in each bracket.
Additional Information:
· Juice, coffee and donuts will be provided for coaches and athletes by Viper Lanes
· There will be food available for purchase. We ask that no coolers are brought to the event.
· There will be a common area provided for coaches and athletes to store bags and belongings. Viper Lanes and Oelwein High School are not responsible for lost or missing items.
