BRAZILICA FESTIVAL – FILM EXCLUSIVE18.00 – 20.00

‘ESTOMAGO’

For the first time in Brazilica’s long and successful history in Liverpool FILM is being incorporated into the programme, and The Brink is delighted to play host. Not just any old film of course but carefully hand-picked ones that sit nicely in the theme of Brazilica. ESTOMAGO is An amazing way to kick off it off: “The world is made of those who eat and those who get eaten. Raimundo Nonato finds an alternative way: he cooks. What he learns, are a series of rules he uses to his advantage: in the end, the cook must also get his share of food and only he knows which part tastes best. Estômago is an adult fable on power, sex and cooking.”

THURSDAY 17th JULY

BRAZILICA FESTIVAL – FILM EXCLUSIVE18.00 – 20.00

‘TROPICALIA’

In keeping with the Brazilica theme another superb documentary which explores in depth the complex revolutionary attitude and the prevailing culture in Brazil just a few decades ago.

“Tropicália wasn’t a style or a movement as much as an atmosphere, a rush of youthful, cosmopolitan, liberationist optimism that broke over Brazil like a sun shower and soaked into everything: art, music, fashion, film, theater, literature”
New York Times.
