Application for Interprofessional Education Project Funding

The Office of Interprofessional Education, Research and Practice is accepting applications for IPE Mini-Grants to fund a student-centered IPE project. All faculty members, full-time lecturers, and PT staff in CHHS are eligible to submit an application. Interprofessional education is defined as an occasion when two or more professions learn with, from and about each other to improve collaborative practice and the quality of care. The guiding principles of IPE include the following competencies:

Successful IPE projects should include one or more IPE competencies as a goal and/or learning outcome. The proposal should also demonstrate collaboration among faculty participants, and of course students. Examples of IPE projects that have received funding in the past can be found on the IPE website:

To apply for funding, follow the directions below.

  1. Complete the application form, and attach it to the proposal.
  2. Include a 3-5 page detailed summary of the proposed IPE project. The following section headings should be used: rationale/introduction, goals, student learning outcomes, participating CHHS programs, timeline, evaluation plan, dissemination plan, role of each faculty/staff participant, sustainability plan, and location (If the IPE activity/project is taking place off campus, please include evidence that permission to use the location has been granted.)
  3. Include a detailed budget with estimated costs

Please Note:

  1. Submit the application and supporting documents electronically to Chris Karshin (). Please send all components of the proposal as a single PDF document.
  2. Members of the IPE Steering Committee will conduct a blind review of the applications.
  3. Depending on the structure of the proposed evaluation plan, the Project Director may need to submit an application to the Human Subjects Committee. Funds will not be released until IRB approval is secured.
