The CaliforniaStateUniversity, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Business Analyst, Labor Cost Distribution to be responsible for completion of system analysis, planning, design, documentation and testing for the Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM 8.9 application.

Duties:

Under general direction of the Human Resources Application Support Manager the Business Analyst, Labor Cost Distribution will as part of the California State University (CSU) Common Management Systems (CMS) HR application team, concentrate on providing functional support for the Labor Cost Distribution module and backup support for Oracle delivered Absence Management (AM) and Time and Labor (T&L) modules. Support development associated with upgrades and application enhancements. The tasks involved will include: Help Desk Ticket analysis and problem-solving, functional specification development, business process development and/or enhancement, system testing, and communication of application updates to campuses.

Requirements:

This position requires an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience as well as coursework (or equivalent work experience) in the PeopleSoft HCM Application. CSU payroll functional experience or knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll and/or Commitment Accounting (version 8.8 or higher) is required. This position also requires 2 –3 years of functional experience working with the PeopleSoft HR application (preferably in a university setting). Knowledge of budget and financial accounting concepts and practices is desired. Must be comfortable working in a collaborative, team- oriented environment and will possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with PeopleTools (including Configuration Manager and PeopleSoft Process Scheduler) as well as technical tools/concepts (including sequel query tools, record key structures, entity relationships, and ability to read SQR) are strongly desired.

Must have the ability to perform functional design and specification development, collaborate with technical analysts on application design and development of technical specifications, interpret technical specs, create application documentation, complete testing (unit, system and regression), conduct application configuration and develop sequel code for troubleshooting. Workload prioritization and good interpersonal skills are required.
