CAP Conference
Washington DC is January 29th – make your reservations now!
Budget set aside $5,000 which will be divided among participants – estimated cost is $400 for conference and $500 for hotel - $250 a night

Legislative Activities
Bill Hendrickson – NAHU State Organization is working on having local NAHU Members adopt a local legislator
John Hanson coordinating this program for our chapter – Talking points are on the TAHU website.
NAHU National Conference in Denver – June 24- 27th
David Smith – New Legislation
Bill expected to provide NC state children with health insurance by 2008 through a tax credit.
Public Service Committee

§ Triangle Town Center Career Day was a great success with 8 volunteers talking to 300 students that stopped by our booth. Thanks to United Healthcare, and all our volunteers.
§ The board has approved a brief 5 minute “visit” from a Public Service Program at our monthly meeting.

Terri/Tony mentioned that TAHU gave Vernon Malone and someone else – I missed name.
Topics Discussed
Tony – will be forwarding everyone some of the laws re: transparency in other states – AZ
Tony – article on small risk pools – will kill HSA growth in NC
Discussion on carriers that are not rating HSA experience separately and so it is not being rated with any pricing differential to sell it effectively. Clients are getting increases with no claims activity.
National Awards Effort
Rufus – If we want to obtain a National award, we must be sure to document what we did and make sure that we have records in our minutes and separate documents to provide. Our secretary should be documenting all activities including the Activity – Date – Expected Attendance – Actual Attendance , Topics covered Meetings, PAC donations, Legislative meetings, Education, CE’s, Public Service etc.
